    Something different but certainly interesting. All you need now are some period figures to go with it. Good job.

    New found respect for CZcams's premier model builder doing a metcalfes kit!! Who doesn't love a card kit for Christmas? Well done, sir! Well done!
    Edit; very Skipton Castle 😉

    I really enjoyed watching you build this and I’m going to take a look at what other kits they do as I can see this being a lovely, low stress project. I love the way they build up depth but then hide the card layers with the caping stones etc. Thanks as ever for sharing your builds with us.

    Once again great work, thanks for sharing. I build aircraft as a rule but this seems really fun and different plus no painting, weathering and airbrush cleaning. Stress free! Great work! Take care

    Love metcalfe models - so much fun to make and the final structures are strong - although the chimneys are always getting knocked off :-)

    I love how you can take something that starts out essentially flat and turn it into a convincing three dimensional structure…...would be cool to see this in a diorama.

    I got the whole castle for Christmas last year; just a change from the normal kits I use on my railway. I'm now in process of completing a diorama using a range of mediaeval siege weapons and soldiers - may have it done by Christmas 2022! Love your channel Greg!

      I would highly recommend you get some deluxe materials rocket card glue if you ever make any more. It’s like super glue for card, dries almost instant and is incredibly strong.

    Hi Greg, What a lovely little build. Its been a pleasure to watch you make this nice looking castle. It looks like you could use these types of building kits in diorama settings. Thanks mate.

    What a fab' model and build. It has reminded me that I have their 'Industrial Building' somewhere; I shall dig it out and finally build it. I do hope you do more of these Metcalfe models, but I appreciate there are so many models and so little time ;-)

  • @greybeardmodels
    @greybeardmodels Před 2 lety

    I can see a lot of model knights, knowing how you like figure painting!! Definitely going out on a wing here mate.

  • @jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy3394

    That's an interesting new direction Greg, and on your next visit to the shop, you walk out with a length of OO track as well as the next castle components.....that's how it started with me. It's a slippery slope my friend.........but an enjoyable one because you get to use all of your modelling skills on a project that becomes an operational diorama. Great build as always mate, and you didn't have to clean the airbrush once!

    Great job Greg. I always enjoy your videos buddy - so de-stressing. I agree with Stu from NZ regards the construction of the whole castle down the line, but then maybe with the addition of say a 1:72 Lancaster or Mosquito buzzing it in a low-level flypast? Sorry if that’s tacky!...

    Nice video. Rather than a flexible cutting mat to keep things flat, have you considered sheets of glass? I’d strongly recommend some form of toughened glass of course. I have an A4 sheet of glass from an old, broken, home scanner

  • @julianmhall

    Just a thought re the areas to be kept clear of glue. Could they be masked like clear parts of a plastic model, just in case of accidents.

  • @forgivemenot1
    @forgivemenot1 Před 2 lety

    One thing I was wondering is given that this is card do you think you could use something like a blunt butterknife to indent the mortar lines between the bricks to give it a more three dimensional feel?

  • @TheYjmfan
