David totally embodies what skateboarding means to me. He shreds, but also recognizes his community and he truly loves his city and the opportunities he's been given. I think skateboarders have a relationship with their environment that most people don't have.

i was at barca the same summer with David and Luan (July 2008). I watched them skating and it was something unbelievable. i also saw the swichbigspin heel from Luan and fakie airwalk from David at big 4 (david did it 2nd try, luan did it two times ) Both are legends!

one of my first thrashers was david’s cover at the beginning. he’s been a favorite of mine since i first understood professional skateboarding and extremely sorry was my first real skate video. david’s an absolute legend
His story is very similar to me and many other Colombians there and that immigrated to America. He’s the reason why I skate.

I remember I was at Tampa am back when Felipe Gustavo won and I've never seen someone as good as David Gonzalez ...he's one of the best skaters I've ever seen in person and is highly underated even though he's won soty ..
The dude has been killing it forever and is an absolute animal,another dude I used to skate with in person was brad cromer,hes still one of the most naturally gifted skaters I've ever seen and he's never gotten the recognition he deserves .....
