As a young kid growing up on 165 in the 80s one thing was fasho the gangsters respected the elders. We lived across from the Sykes and a couple houses down from the Shaws next door to Pluck who was ballin out of control with limousines benzes and beamers parked all around his mom's house. The only Samoan family on 165.

On the Eastside we had Head Houncho and Mac Thomas and Tookie on the Westside. That Compton Crip History has a legendary lineup. 165 Neighborhood Blocc Crip formed and sounded like the US Tribe outta Compton. We just wanted to protect our Neighborhood.
So the Grandees was the spot to be at, if you belonged.

@@Dcain2 Due to the airport separating them from Alondra, 151 technically is NOT on Alondra. It's the airport on Alondra, and they're on the other side of the airport, which means we never saw those dudes growing up. We never shared a store, no same schools, no accidental run-ins with them, it's like they were on another planet. We would clash with CPP and WSP before we ran into one of them, simply cuz that airport boxed them off and away from us on Alondra. May PVC and TPC would have more run-ins with them, but we never saw them. We had to be just looking for any pirus for us to go lookin for them. It happens, if we lookin for just ANY pirus, they're right there, but most shootings come from retaliation, or bumping into each other. They never stepped on Alondra for us to bump into them, cuz there's nothing across the street from us but a big empty airport.

Can somebody clarify this for me. How did Monster Kody hang around Tookie Williams if Tookie Williams is from Compton and Monster Kody is from 8 tray neighborhood? Compton and 83rd Street and Western and all that is nowhere near each other. I came up on 84th with my cousin used to spend all my Summers and Christmases there so I'm very familiar with Western Avenue
