- My man Tank Be Choppin challenged me to do a fade with the Gamma Skin Clipper. For those of you who don't know the Skin clipper is a balding clipper with no lever. just started getting into cutting hair and was gifted a clipper with no lever and my first cut i just couldn’t blend in the fade. do you have any tips for cuts with no lever?
Need a clipper with a lever. Takes a lot of finesse especially for a beginner
The first faded i tried was with Philips trimmer. Man that was though, it took me about 2 and half hours to get it done. That too they aren't even, now I had lever trimmer, am getting better and more confident.. you and faded culture help me lots. Thanks 😊

I have no lever and I cut my own hair. The thing that grinds my gears, is the wrinkles I gain whilst cutting. Too much concentration and frowning. I’m just obsessed with cutting my own hair. I am definitely buying one with a lever again lol. It is hard, but I have clocked it. 🎉. Good Job Bro

Looks good. One of the things that I wouldve done was instead of setting in guidelines, I wouldve Angle my clipper side ways and swipe in order to get a little blend going. Something I picked up from Ivan Zoot and my boss
Yeah definitely could have. Only the bald line I set in just out of habit I think
I always wondered if Ivan Zoot's method actually worked; you never see any other barbers use it.
@@brucewayne2091 Definitely does on straight hair. Curly hair is a hit or miss. Everything depends on the style and texture of hair. I do prefer using guidelines only cause i find my cuts will always look consistent

Salt & pepper is def more difficult. You’re not just fading the hair…you’re essentially blending colors too!

I'm a just now starting to learn how to cut hair. If a professional barber is saying its difficult, it would be a disaster for me. Return the clippers i just bought and ordering one with a lever.

I never understood the appeal of a fade but hey, customer pays his $$$, he gets what he wants. Nice to see you struggle a bit. I was just waiting for you to use the very edge of your clipper to get that line out.
I don’t get a fade anymore because of the grow back. But yeah some clients want them

Has your rebel clipper ruined wahl 0.5 guards? Like the teeth of them?
I want to buy the rebels but i heard it does that.
Any clipper that’s set too close will do that. I just make sure I have mine set back just enough to not tear up the guards

When true zero gap is in play half gurads are going to get chewed up no matter what... try babyliss premium garuds. They are made from a different material way stronger.
@rolig2596 just make sure it's not over gaped. Moving blade never higher then non Moving blade. Use a sheet of white paper and a light to hone in your gaping.
