    One of the fan theories, which is explored more in the actual Nightmare Time series, is that this song indicates that Hannah's issues/prophetic outbursts are not because of any kind of mental illness, but because she's able to see every timeline of Hatchetfield, including the ones that end in an apocalypse. And it's indicated that she and Lex are the key to ending the loop for the town - her for being able to see the timelines, and Lex for her ability to manifest things from the Black & White. So this song is Hannah basically seeing all possible endings for the residents of the town, including the ones where everyone dies/is infected/etc

      Personally, I think Hannah is both a prophet and neurodivergent, but focussing on the prophet part I'd say you're right. What did it for me was that at certain times during 'What If Tomorrow Comes' her movements and positions on stage (and the others' positions relative to hers) are very reminiscent of Linda Monroe's during 'Adore Me'. I think this definitely implies her being a prophet, and I'd say she's a prophet of the being that calls themself Webby. Webby tells her in advance about things that will happen in the future, and seems to work against Wiggly whenever they can. I'm not sure if this makes them a good thing, as if you see Webby as being against Wiggly alot of their actions that, on face value, seem to aim to protect Hannah could also be interpreted as simply trying to foil Wiggly. For example, telling Hannah not to put on the backpack could be interpreted either as:
      1. Protecting Hannah by avoiding her being in possession of a Wiggly, and therefore being the target of a cult
      or 2. Avoiding a Wiggly being in the possession of an pretty much defenceless child, as opposed to someone who could better prevent it getting into the hands of the cult.
      Also, she says Webby is from "space", but I think that the darkness of the Black and White (where I think Webby comes from, given his connection to Wiggly) could be easily mistaken for space by someone who didn't know about the dimension.
      Anyway, try watching 'Adore Me' then 'What If Tomorrow Comes' back-to-back. I might be looking too far into some simple choreography, but I think the connections are there.

      I think this tracks. To accent the theory (while you definitely see cameos throughout the musical) the only time the main cast of TGWDLM gathers together to watch the sky (Paul, Emma, Ted, Bill, the hot chocolate guy) is during this song. It's like her song is drawing all the timelines together at this one single point before the end. I also believe that, because Hannah exists in Nightmare Time too, that all versions of her are aware of themselves and can supplant each others' consciences.

    • @kevinwetherell1748
      @kevinwetherell1748 Před 7 měsíci +3

      Ok so the ticking throughout the song reminds me of the Doomsday clock of the cold war, telling how far from 'midnight' (total nuclear annhilation) we are as a species. Remembering that in this universe the nuke went off in russia, that Russia sent a counteroffensive (and the President was in Hatchetfield at the time), and that the song ends with planes rushing overhead, I think that 'tomorrow' might mean the literal brightness of a nuclear bomb, taking the night away and making no one left to stay (described as a second sun by survivors of Nagasaki/Hiroshima). This plays with the interesting line of taking both the night (the darkness of night) and the light (people's lives). Tomorrow (the day) will come. If tomorrow comes today (the bomb), then tomorrow (the day, as experienced by the citizens) will not come. So either way if tomorrow won't come, then tomorrow comes. We can hear everyone singing this part, which I believe implies they all know this is a possibility in some sense, and worry which will happen first. Of course, Hannah has extra insight in this, being able to see the apocolypse in other universes, knowing this is a more real possibility than any others know, which also explains the beginning 'Do you all see what i see?' - she realizes first.

      You don't notice it at first, but when you do it feels strange since you normally would could down (10...9...8... ect.) and I think that kind of encapsulates Hatchetfield. Nobody has noticed on their own so far except Hannah. (as far as I can remember)
