none, m.2 isn't needed for gaming. no noticeable difference. save your money and buy a SSD. We wont need m.2 for gaming until cpu's get about 10 times faster.
@@Matt101905 Consoles like the Xbox take much more advantage of DirectStorage which gets huge gains from M.2 NVME drives over SSD drives. Now more and more PC games are utilizing it. 6x faster loading on Forspoken with an NVME drive. Microsoft Flight Simulator uses it. Forza Motorsports uses DirectStorage. Get ready for many more games utilizing DirectStorage on PC in 2024. I saw a list of quite a large amount of games, but I can't remember them all. Just a few that I had. Now, yeah, without DirectStorage, the difference between loading times in games with a decent SSD and a great M.2 NVME drive are practically zero difference. That's because it's all about seek times, not transferring one 5GB chunk at once to your RAM. It's about finding hundreds or thousands of files and in my experience, games without DirectStorage load the same on an SSD as they do on an M.2 NVME (I'm using a 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus). Even games on a USB 3.0 drive will load far faster than an HDD because of seek times. And my USB is a Sandisk Ultra Fit so it reads at 130-135 MB/s and writes at 30 MB/s. But being "solid state", the seek times are faster than any HDD out there. But be ready... 2024 is bringing games with DirectStorage and HUGE VRAM requirements. Since late 2022 and all of 2023, MANY of the new games push my 6700XT 12GB to 9+GB VRAM easily... with a lot going beyond that easily. I play at 1440p Ultra.
