Feel free to travel out to the Swan Valley (15km NE of Perth city) and check out winery's, breweries, Chocolate factories, distilleries, some great restaurants, gelato, coffe roasters etc.

Rotto is a must,tho maybe a bit cold for swimming now,but the beaches & bays are beautiful in summer. Don't forget your Quokka selfies 😁
Depends how far you are travelling, but Esperance beaches are the whitest and clearest in Australia ..but it's a 7-hour drive south.
Closer is Margaret River, Dunsborough, Busselton, Bunbury & Mandurah....then there's up North.👍
Yep were loving Freo, such a nice spot! Definitely heading to Rottnest, waiting until its not school holidays to avoid the crowds 😅

Push bike is the best way to explore Rotty. I camped there for a week. Loved it.

When international tourists arrive with limited time it is hard to judge Perth & WA because it is such a large State & the 2nd largest State in the world being 2.64 million sqkm and to judge it properly you need at least 6mths travelling time.
As to Perth it is the weather, chilled out lifestyle, clean city, modern housing, amazing coastline and most important not choked with traffic congestion like Sydney & Melbourne making it easy to get around. A great place to raise a family as work/life balance is good as travel time is short
I am born and raised in Perth but i am not biased as i do like the QLD gold coast & Cairns for holidaying but i would not like to live ands work there. Melb is good too for holidaying & to watch sport but again i would not like to live & work there.
My wife is English from Cornwell and would never go back to the UK as she can't stand the cold weather anymore and idolises our lifestyle here which she calls "gods playground"
The World Surfing Competition Margaret River Event is about to start. It's three and a half hours South, and Accommodation would be hard to get, but judging by your accents, you might not have seen much Big Wave Surfing. Especially with the best in the World going at it. It's not school holidays, and it's an amazing vibe in an absolutely beautiful place. And the Surf might really be on this year.

Wonder if you get any sense of geographical isolation in Perth? I do. In Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane I feel no different to being in London or any European capital, but really sense Perth is second most isolated large city in the world. Perhaps because it is also often less crowded. You also fly over a lot of empty country to get there and there are not many people elsewhere in WA. Darwin is far smaller and I also feel conscious of where I am.
PS - the way you both say "bootiful" makes me wonder if you are from or near East Anglia?

Haha! A mixture of things really, sometimes we would just pay for a laundrette but if we are on the road then we have a good old fashion bucket to wash and hang things up

Perth city is for work and major entertainment only. Outside, but near the city you have a ton of entertainment centres, Northbridge which is an ...adventure. Leederville, Subiaco Beaufort strip, Victoria Park and the casino area, plus others nearby. It is NOT City centric. There are probably another 10, or even more, areas equivalent to Fremantle, being sub city centres, that's where the entertainment is. Perth is now the longest city in the world, taking over from Sochi. No shortage of beaches and huge parks. Transport and freeways are easy.

That's slowly changing with more and more residential developments within the City of Perth council area. There are about a dozen "activity centres" across the metro area identified by the state government.
Perth only has a bit over 2 million inhabitants. Sydney & Melbourne have over 5 million.
Love everyone who rocks up to St Georges Tce at 9am on a Sunday and says Perth is dead lol! Northbridge is what's missing from your visit.

Many other cities aren't dead even at that time. The reality is Perth Centre is very quiet for a city of 2m+
If you have time, see the Perth hills, there's more to Perth than just the coast.

Perth is too spread out .that's why it feels quiet. The metropolitan area is redicously large for the population of only 2.3 million.

I believe it’s the largest metro area in the world, basically stretches fro Yanchep to Mandurah.

Looks like most of what I was going to say has already been covered off by others. But I'll add my 20 cents worth anyway. I've lived in Sydney (5 years), Melbourne (14 years), Adelaide (until I was 34) and now Perth (for a total of 12 years) and it's not possible to truly compare them all. They all have very different characteristics. As as has been said by others, Perth (and Adelaide) whilst much smaller than Sydney and Melbourne, still have vibrant nightlife districts with a wide variety of eateries, bars and entertainment but also have many natural attractions. The real Australia is not what you find in the CBDs of any of the cities. It's in the suburbs and towns. If you want to meet the real Australia you need to get out of the cities and travel around. That said, I hope you have a wonderful time exploring.

Yep. Central Area Transit is the modern equivalent of the City Clipper which it replaced in the 80s. There are currently 5 routes.

I would hit up a few locals for suggestions….
When you go to Rottnest, don’t hire a bicycle. Use the bus…. Trust me, and I’m a cyclist!

@@LeeandLoz Not sure how much time you have but Perth Mint, Perth Zoo, Museum/ Art Gallery, Lobster Shack and Pinnacles at Cervantes, Yanchep national Park, Dolphins at Rockingham, ferry fromPerth to Freo….
And the best beach in Perth is Mullalloo, not Cottesloe….
Eh, having the freedom to go at your own leisure is more fun. Have been there 3 times and I would definitely bike.
@@thevannmann I wouldn't recommend a bike for a day tripper who wants to go to the west end.... unless it's electric.
If you're staying there for a few days or just want to go round the settlement or over to Geordie Bay, no problems.

There won't be skyscrapers in the city centre for a long time. The airport is too close, regulations forbid building high.
What on Earth does that even mean?
There's Cities all over the World close to Airports. And they'll move an Airport before they'll shut a City down.
@@tsubadaikhan6332 no-one is shutting a city down. This city is limited to about 80 floors because the airport is close to the city, advanced countries impose height versus distance regulations. In particular, the airport is on the same line
with the city as the 2 main directional prevailing winds.
This has been thought out by very intelligent people since flight became a thing. It is actually very convenient, enabling underground rail and easy and rapid transport to the airport, so why move it? There's another massive airport for smaller commercial and private planes around 20km away, I think that's the busiest airport in Australia in terms of take-offs.
It's not a difficult concept to understand. The city itself has plenty of space to grow sideways and lengthwise, it's really not a problem.
@@Quinctili So Perth is limited to 80 stories? There are about 30 buildings in the whole World more than 80 stories. So it's probably not a limit the City has to worry about in the immediate future, and makes your comment very strange.

LOL What. I've lived in Perth my whole life and never heard of this.
That was back in the 70's/80's era when Sunday sessions were limited hours & buying alcohol was limited as well. The gov't then was trying to curb our drinking consumption but it did not work so it was scrapped. It did make for good Sunday Arvo sessions at the pubs with live bands though as jugs of beer were cheap and the pubs were jam packed

Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. It probably just depends on you and the kind of person you are/have been. Don't wait until its too late and you have to suffer the consequences of built up bad karma from immoral acts/unrepented sins. Maybe together we can help make the world a better place by changing ourselves for the better, and changing things around us for the better.
And addressing/thanking the CREATOR, LORD GOD at the beginning and end of your prayers would be a good idea 😊
