    Love it... how was it playing against men? It was good for me cuz i like to battle hard, im not the biggest guy but im one of the strongest. " The Confidence in this kid is amazing. He aint afraid if he likes to battle hard. He has a good Defensive game which makes a 200 ft Two way player. This kid may be ahead of a few Top end Forward prospects already. This kid maybe 1-2 years out max and i mean max .

      His stocky but elusive style really reminds me of guys like Crosby and Zetterberg as crazy as it sounds. Obviously not the same level of sheer skill and ability, so it’s not a comparison, but in terms of how he works the corners, protects pucks, and finds the open areas I see a similar style of play. Nobody will accuse them of being snipers, and their main concern is just making correct decision after correct decision at both ends and taking what the other team is giving. There’s a limited list of Centers with build that battle down low the way he does while still having plenty of finesse to his game. In a perfect world this is our 3c with Benson and someone like Quinn, we roll 3 scoring lines with juice, and he plays on the PK and likely also the 2nd powerplay unit within a couple years. This is the type of player winning teams have as a middle 6 center

      @ColeSATurner Před 2 dny +2

      @thewolfdoctor761 I mean, the 2 defensemen who were available at 11 and 12 have extremely high potential, so that could make them look silly in the future by not picking them. However, their main focus is forwards with having Dahlin, Power, Byram, and others now (even if that could've made it super OP), and they won't be ready until 4+ years, so this was a fantastic pick for them. The best forward left on the board and he may be the closest to NHL ready, as soon as 2024.

      @@ColeSATurner i agree, my only concern is how injury prone byram and samuelsson are, thats why i didnt like the long term singing and the trade. thats why i wouldve liked a dickinson or buium and why it may make this management look as bad as jim benning a few years down the line. if they stay healthy then they have three good pairings with all of them.

    is that dahlin! :P jk but seriously this is how hockey works, its not the NFL where you draft and they play; they usually will be in development for a few years depending on how they do and this is the normal. What is not normal is players being drafted and playing on your NHL team right away, that is extremely rare.there's to many people in the comments that have no clue how hockey works.

    With Jeff Skinner getting bought out by the Sabres, does this open a possible roster spot for Konsta, making him this year's Zach Benson? Put him on a line with Benson and either Kulich or Savoie and Buffalo could have a new 'Kid Line'!

    Considering we missed the playoffs for 13 straight years I would like to see us get guys who are ready to play today. We have so many young promising prospects that I think Buffalo should make a splash that would include moving a guy like Savoie. We have so many top picks. Rosen, Ostlund, Kulich, Savoie and now Helenius. I assume one of those guys will make the jump, perhaps Kulich. All I know is that we need playoff hockey. it's been too long.

      0 trades for players happened today, there wasn't a market set and teams usually ask more when teams are in desperation like we are now. It'll happen, GMKA knows its sign someone, trade for someone, or kiss your job goodbye mid season.

      To me, this sets us up perfectly to leverage a limited-protection 2025 first in order to get someone at the level of an Ehlers into the fold. Logan Couture is a great 3C if Helenius spends a year in Rochester: Trade a 2nd for a John Marino and add physical depth forwards in FA and you have a team that has the ability to make the playoffs and play playoff style hockey

      @@brendanf8845 Couture missed all of last season. His injuries might be an issue. I like Ehlers. I honestly think we need some better depth players too. Our 4th line needs to be guys who push hard, agressive, fast. We have none on those guys. We have big guys like Tuch and Greenway who don't play big. We often lose because we lose battles too easily. Very skilled but very weak.

    Sabres appear to think they're trying to win the World Bantam Championship instead of the Stanley Cup with the continued fascination with mini me skaters. This trade back from 11 to 14 also makes zero sense for this team. No one thinks the Sabres need more prospects Adams seems to believe you win with the most prospects, instead of the reality where you win with the 18 BEST players.

Let's face it if another team is willing to trade a younger established player It could be financial or it could be for another reason. 5’11 190 is an NHL frame. I’m really not sure what you guys are even looking at. Guys are out here getting drafted at 6’1 160. Helenius has a really low center of gravity from his skating style very similarly to Benson, and he’s got a lot more muscle to him. He can easily sneak onto the roster and brings enough defensively to be a guy that plays on both sides of special teams. By the start of the season this kid is likely pushing 200 lbs. He’s already over 10 lbs heavier than someone like Brayden Point. I’m sorry the draft pick didn’t have facial hair

Rushing into the playoffs for only 1 year is not going to lead to any deep playoff success, Stanley Cup or sustained success.
