As a Kashmiri living in Mumbai, it's frustrating that I can't apply for a driver's license here. The rule requiring me to go back to Kashmir for this is inconvenient, and since I can't make that trip, I'm left without a driver's license.
Not only you it’s applicable to all indians. I am from west Bengal and I live in Delhi. And for getting driving licence 🪪 I had to go to my birth state/domicile state. India is union of states and transportation comes under the jurisdiction of State. And transportation dept allots driving license.

Absolutely wrong way of providing DL in Kashmir. We should adopt uk model of providing DL to any individual. Like checking road user characteristics are very important. Merely checking a person can park in single try or providing life-lines whatever doesn’t explain one’s driving skills. There should be proper instructors from the department who should accompany a person as co driver on motorway and thoroughly examine his/her driving skills, civic sense, shifting lanes, taking u-turns, taking right-left, complete road-user characteristics, unnecessary honking. In Kashmir people completely lack civic sense.

I too was excited when I passed the test but that was previous pattern which I think was little tougher than this one.

Literally these people taking test there are making unnecessarily more nervous .This seems easy but it is not especially the one who is wearing red head cover is always shouting , making ppl nervous and adding to the chaos

it took me 4 months to get licence ..such a long procedure ...i feel here in kashmir RULES ARE MEANT FOR FOOLS .as i have personally seen most of them who even have licence doest know how to follow signal or how to overtake ..most just drive blindly
It took me 6 months please travel whole india to know the situation. You guys always complain before knowing the situation. Its a nation of 1.45 billion peoples.

Why we dont have no RTO visit licence facility in Kashmir while other states have this facility , why you have only 30 inch width 8 for two wheelers , backside of Tvs jupiter scooty is 25.5 inch its too tough to pass 25.5 inch through 30 inch, see out side kashmir in other Indian states two wheeler 8 is wide and big , you waste money and time of people, majority people fail in trials, does RTO Srinagar get commission from police chalans due to no licence.
no doubt the test is easy but getting a license hard copy from the rto srinagar is biggest challenge
