THE SISTINE CHAPEL-(With Surprising Michelangelo Facts!)

  • The Sistine Chapel in the Vatican is the most famous chapel in the world. It's where the Pope prays and where the next Pope is chosen. It is covered with frescoes but the most famous were painted by Michelangelo. He painted the ceiling, which features nine panels that detail The Old Testament. He also painted The Last Judgement on one entire wall. Other Renaissance painters painted the side walls before Michelangelo arrived on the scene. Pope Julius II asked Michelangelo to paint the ceiling which he reluctantly did because he saw himself more as a sculptor than a painter. Years later, Pope Paul III commissioned him to paint The Last Judgement. There are a few surprising and interesting facts about the whole process which are contained in the video.

      @Immanuel Tubman I am disinclined to entertain the idea because for me Michelangelo is a pure artist, or as pure as they come. I honestly don't think he was posturing with politics or religion. This is a masterpiece of art. It is a sublimity that probably even blew his patrons away. People do not just paint shit like this. Obviously painting was the goal per se. He was speaking to people with pencils and brushes more than angry men in frocks beating old books.

    I make the mistake of calling it The Sixteenth Chapel. Nickname on purpose. Okay I'll take the Latin Sistine Chapel name instead. Beautiful cornerstone conceptions of our relationship with God. Sacred geometry. That's prismatic Light. That's exactly what here can see. No matter how religiously spiritually meaningful also very deeply heartfelt take into account. There's an amazing grace of God energy there, besides the personal experiences, but that's what also enhances the experience. Our connection with God, but God is advanced difficult to understand all the time.

If you obtain a painting, every palace has an Art muesem wing- you can open up your suite for daily "muesem style walk through" I think- that's from 11:00am- 2:00pm daily in each palace. • @TribuneAquila
      @TribuneAquila Před 3 lety

      There is thinking that in his fresco of the creation of Adam, the depiction of god and the twelve figures plus the cloak are in the shape and an anatomically correct depiction of a human brain. The implication being that the creation of man or consciousness, to Michelangelo, did not come from god but rather from man himself. Or more specifically god was a creation of the human mind, and that creation gave us our humanity.
      So if this interpretation is true then god did not drive Michelangelo’s hands, Michelangelo did.

    This is the Sistine Chapel Ceiling. Pope Julius II asked Michelangelo to paint the Sistine Chapel in 1508 which the artist finished in 1512. Notice in the original Hebrew text of the Torah, the story of Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit, does not specify what kind of fruit. We read later on, that as soon they ate the fruit, they noticed were naked and covered themselves with fig leaves, the closest tree where they were standing. Wise Jewish exegetes of the Torah learned because of the facts presented in the story. Fig was the fruit that Adam and Eve ate in The Garden of Eden. Look like Michelangelo was well-advised not by a Catholic priest, but rather by someone else wiser who knew about the Garden of Eden story.

    If ones eyes deceive them they will surely miss the deception in "mans depiction of Gods creation" in the works of Michaelangelo.
    Under the Popes he served I'd venture to question every single work put out during their time in papacy. Especially the works of Michaelangelo.
    No doubt he is a talented master of his craft but given those times, one only looked towards money & power. The Popes of that time, participated in more earthly pleasures than heavenly gatherings.
    His paintings have an intriguing undertone that the keen eye of a truth seeker will ponder.. my my Alice how wonderful 🗝️🎩

      😂😂😂 When you pathetically claim Michaelangelo was black you have to say these paintings were fake. 😂😂 So where are his real ones. Are you saying the sculpture of David is fake? Do you know how stupid that makes you? If he didn't paint them then a white person did and they are still masterpieces . So your fake Claim means you have no paintings by Michaelangelo
