The Girl from Ipanema was the first Bossa Nova song I was introduced to in the 60s. I was 8 years old & loved it from the jump! Later on in life when I was introduced to Carlos Jobim's music & other Bossa Nova musicians & vocalists, others like Astrud Gilberto made me love this style of Brazilian music forever! May G-d bless those who made Bossa Nova a timeless love of mine! And may Jobim, Astrud Gilberto, & other Bossa Nova greats rest in peace.❤️🎶🎤🌹
My first taste of Bossa was when I heard "Once I Loved" by Astrud Gilberto. That was in my teens in the 90's. That was pre-Internet so looking for her was next to impossible. But I was really glad when in my parent's collection of Cassette Tapes lies Astrud Gilberto. Fell in love instantly with her 1965 album. Now Im 46 and devastated to hear of her passing. Long live Astrud Gilberto. Lots love from above ❤

This takes me back to my early childhood. My dad loved this music and listening to it reminds me of being with him. He died at only 62 and my older brother as well. I'll turn 62 in 2 months so who knows what will happen.
