- This video shows how to true 22LR Elevation Data out to distance. I have a method that works best for me, but if you have another way that works for you then stick with it. I hope you learn something new with this video. Feel free to give me feedback on how you true your data. Thanks for watching!
Those 300 yard groups look optimistic! Just kidding and thanks for the good info!!
Thanks foe taking the time and sharing what you do to succeed. Much appreciated..
Glad to help!
Nice, I just asked someone smart about this a couple weeks ago! Appreciate you showing your method!
Thank you for watching!
Good information I like the way you use the clear plastic. Great idea
Thank you!
Am catching up on your video’s keep it up big guy your getting better and better at it and putting out some real good info. You going blow up become huge at this. Have bless day
Very cool of you to post your efforts. It will help people like me. Cheers.
Thank you for watching!
Great video. Learned alot, Thank you.
I appreciate you watching! Thanks
Thanks a lot for sharing your video! i’m starting to see the big picture.
Thank you for watching!
Nice video Texas22Jack! I use the custom curve, but think I'll take a look at what you presented here. I like how you discussed that fact that this isn't center fire so we have to look at things a bit differently.
Thank you for watching! & thanks for the feedback
Would the custom curve allow you to not only true at distances but also true up close?
@@TheGrantnorman Once you true at distance, the up close should be trued as well at least for my Centerfire 6mm BRA that's true. I use the same process for my Vudoo, but Texas22Jack takes it a step further for his 22 which works very well for him!
Learned a lot, appreciate it man!
Thanks for the feedback!
I’m using geo ballistics using this method at 200 and 300. When I true my bc it’ll change my 200 is that still ok?
That is fascinating. In your professional opinion is your method of trueing better than using onboard tools like the MV calibrator in the drop scale factor tool? Your trophy speak for themselves, but I am curious why you chose not to use those tools. Thank you.
For me this method works best yes. The problem I’ve seen with the MV CAL is that when you true a 22LR out to 350+ it “untrues” my shorter ranges so to speak. But I’ve heard of guys having separate profiles from 325 yards and below & another profile for 350 yards and above, and it works really well for them. I believe Chris Simmons, the two time NRL champion does this & he’s a heck of a shooter and it works for him. For me I’d rather have one profile and then manipulate my BC when I shoot beyond 300 yards. I have a different BC that I use when I get beyond 300 yards. At the end of the day it’s all personal preference though. Some guys may or may not like this method and will do what works he’s for them.
Good video. I only shoot Rimfire What model Kestrel should a person get? Thank you May God Bless you and your Family
PRS Rimfire? If so I recommend the kestrel 5700, kestrel 5700 elite or kestrel 5700 elite X. Those are in order from lowest price to highest. With the kestrel 5700 you can store up to 3 profiles, with the elite you can store as many as you want.
Maybe contact ray X-Ring about using Cal DSF
How did you get SK rimfire bullet in your Library ? I have a 5700x and it doesn't show that
I had a friend that had a similar issue. He told me he just needed to update his app and it worked. I would try updating the app and then restarting your phone and kestrel & then see if it will work.
@@texas22jack89 awesome I will try that, thank you sir
Do you still true your muzzle velocity even though you get your MV from your magneto? Or was you just showing how it’s done without a chronograph?
I’m just showing how it’s done without a chronograph. For the most part I use the muzzle velocity that the magneto speed gives me.
@@texas22jack89 thank you very much
@@texas22jack89so if I use my mv from Garmin I should skip the 150 trueing step? And go straight to 300 to true BC? Or do you still tweak mv at 150?
@@haiku13hd I would go straight to truing BC at 300. The Garmin is pretty reliable in giving MV.
Just curious......why did you scratch out the BC you were using in this video?
Great question, to be honest I don’t remember lol. It’s been a while since I made this video. But to take a guess, it was probably because I didn’t want to mislead others into putting the same BC for their specific barrel compared to mine. It would give them different results. Maybe..
@@texas22jack89 Okay thank you sir! Just trying to get this kestrel figured out with my set up. My kestrel dope is consistently high so I think ur video will help. Thanks for sharing your know how bud!
@@tedlodigensky6904 glad to help! Thanks for watching
Will this work with a ballistic program?
I can’t speak for other programs, but it does work on a kestrel. I do have the ballistic arc program and it works there too.
FYI... I use Strelok Pro on my iPhone and it works as advertised.
Didn't have to spend an extra $750 bucks for the elite!!!
@@missedshot9235 I’ve heard great things about the Sterlok pro!
That's a nice group @300yrds😅
😜
Do you have an IG account?
I do not but I’ve thought about it, I might have one soon for this channel.
You pluck a chicken! Jeez! Lol jk. 😆 thanks for the info.
