    To be honest these tests are pointless on the old 4wd systems as they have no electronic assist.But for all the vehicles with electronic assist this test is perfect ☺

    Results were expected. With no differential lock on rear or front axle.

    The only thing that works on Niva is interaxle locking and relatively high clearance (and cheap repairs). Thats all.

    Oh, guys! Can you find and check a Hummer H-1?
    It lacks not only inter-wheel differentials’ locks, but also the interaxle differential’s lock.

    This generation of Jimny has no power assist or limited slip differential it seems.
    So it's a matter of inertia and/or internal friction of the transmission

      @@Dzalesin Lada Niva has front and rear open differential, no lsd, no lockers, no traction control. That's why it can't pass diagonal and lateral tests. Jimny has traction control system so it can do it.

    Qui piove da quattro giorni senza interruzioni, ieri sono salito sulla mia Lada e ho deciso di affrontare una parete di fango, se mi fossi fermato non avrei potuto fare manovra senza probabilmente ribaltarmi per tornare indietro, ho inserito prima ridotta e blocco del differenziale, andavo su col motore a 2000 giri, pensavo di fermarmi.. la velocitá si è abbassata, forse andavo a 2-3km/h eppure la Lada Niva non si fermava è salita.. la differenza l'ha fatta il blocco centrale del differenziale che Niva ha e Jimny no. Credo proprio che Jimny non sarebbe salito su.

      Jimny doesn't have center differential lock cause it doesn't have center differential at all. When you engage 4H in Jimny - it is the same effect as locking the center diff in Niva.

      ​@gabrieleantinori4078 let's face it the lada niva is a vehicle that had its heyday in the late seventies and the first half of the eighties. Things however have changed after 1986 the Suzuki vitara came on the scene a more reliable and better put together vehicle than the Lada niva,now it's the Suzuki Jimmy that has taken over from vitara. The Suzuki Jimmy will pass the modern safety and emissions laws where as the Lada niva well its still stuck in the eighties and Putin's favourite era the Soviet union, yes the Suzuki Jimmy is a lot more expensive than the Lada niva but at least it's more reliable and won't rust out as you look at it which the lada has a problem there as for the Suzuki Jimmy being much more expensive well give it few years either a Indian or Chinese car company will likely introduce a similar vehicle to the Jimny but likely at cheaper price than the Suzuki Jimmy so time to move on from these Russian shitboxes.
