I used to watch him when I was younger, personally I loved his vids, it was stupid yeah but he was entertaining to watch
You can say whatever you want about him but I will say this: He did not deserve the overwhelming amount of hate he got, he was just doing what he liked doing and that was that
I’m personally neutral towards Trainboy54/Jon McDowell, mainly due to the controversy with his fans and haters. But I mainly watch his content out of curiosity and to see what he’s up to. I can understand the hate towards him, but I don’t think he deserves to be doxed or trolled, especially if he isn’t hurting anyone. I feel there are far worse users in the Thomas & Friends Fandom than Trainboy54 like BosherStudios254/Reece Kendrick or Shaun Brittain. At least Jon doesn’t attack his haters for bashing him nor does he argue with them in the comments. Also, I forgot to mention this, a few users have called him Chris Chan 2.0 or The Chris Chan of The Thomas Fandom, but I don’t see him going to the degree of what Chris Chan has done, especially nowadays given the recent events of Chris Chan being jailed due to incest with his mother. In conclusion, I don’t see him as a terrible person nor a terrible CZcamsr, all he’s doing is having fun here on CZcams, Broadcast Yourself is their old motto and he seems to be doing just that.
Say what did Shaun Brittain do? I tried doing some searching around of what he did but couldn't find anything.
For what I remember, he had a big ego about his stuff.
I will admit that I was introduced to the concept of making customs out of existing merch through Trainboy54. When I stumbled upon his first channel in 2012, seeing his custom engines was a religious experience from me. Through the eyes of kid less than 10, I found his content to be unique and bouncy. I didn't think the concept of crossing Phineas and Ferb into Thomas and Freinds was weird at the time.
I'm surprised to find that he is still going strong with his content. With an new version of Thomad out, I wodner what he's going to create next?
I loved trainboy54 and still do, and i feel bad for people trolling him. I was a fan but turned on him years ago over cringe culture though now that things have died down i feel remorse and returned to his content with new eyes. He didn't deserve any of it. I'm not saying he was some misunderstood genius, he wasnt; all i'm saying is the man didnt deserve to get bullied for staying in his own lane and doing what he loved. He's good at making customs and he has a sizable collection and the assets to do as he pleases. Like you said, he isnt hurting anybody so he's fine. And he's NOTHING like chris chan, people should NEVER make that comparison. Chris Chan is a delusional extreme manchild with no concept of reality and fiction. Is Trainboy54 a manchild? Yes. Does he do crossover content? Yes, and thats where the similarities end. Is john an incel? No. Does john think phineas and ferb/thomas & friends are real? No. Unlike Chris Chan, John's parents didnt fail him. They let their autistic son thrive in a supporting enviornment with what he loves while making sure he's still a functioning adult. John may not be "normal" but atleast he's not delusional. I'm glad the hate for him has died down

1:18 I vaguely remember why his original channel got deleted. Around June 4th - 6th, 2011, his channel was terminated due to copyright infringement with Disney.
I started watching his content around late 2010 and would check his (and other Thomas Tuber's) channels daily. I admittedly have fond memories of watching Trainboy54's videos. I even wanted to make something similar to his Phineas and Ferb content in Trainz. Looking back, I can definitely say his videos haven't aged well. That doesn't mean Trainboy54 deserved to get doxxed over his content. I stopped watching his videos a bit before the doxing incident, which I had no idea about until now. Great video, btw

Trainboy 54 was my childhood, and I think he was the biggest influence on me making characters from other shows as "thomas and friends characters" or basically making them as trains. I think another influence was someone who made pokemon characters into trains but I can honestly say that Trainboy 54 had a bigger influence on me.
I think he was also my biggest influence on customs but I think theunluckytug and trainboy influenced that more. Either way, I think I honestly can look up to trainboy 54 despite what others say or what happened with him. If anything I still hold him in high regards, so I don't really see anything wrong with him.
Also I just found out there were other controversies or stuff with him, so that's neat I guess. Great video, even if I'm 10 months late. Keep up the great work 👍
I remember finding him from the trainboy54 theme song and laughing at the song for literal HOURS. Thanks for making a vid on him, I’ve wanted to know more abt him for a while. He honestly seems pretty chill. Very eccentric, but chill.
When I was younger, I remember watching Jon's videos, specifically those about Phineas and Ferb as trains. The only one that I actually remember is a remake he made of Thomas and Percy's song from season 16, but instead of Thomas and Percy, it was Phineas and Ferb, but that's it.
Without Thomas and friends I would never know what Phineas and ferb was :)
So um… I’ve actually been a fan of his videos for like 9 years back in 2013, I’m surprised he’s still in Thomas to this very day… and one thing that ticks me off about him is that he can never remember his passwords.
I am someone whose been in the Thomas community myself back in 2013 and left in 2017 due to some bs happening everyday there, but I did run a Tomy Trackmaster tnf series back in 2016, but that lasted 5 episodes, heck my series was somewhat inspired by him, and I’m thankful for that. I do respect him as a person but his content is a childhood to me. :)
I used to watch Jon's videos as an eight year old as Thomas was one of the many things that was big on CZcams at the time, and as much as his voice made me uncomfortable, I still watched his videos because there was some odd charm to them that I kind of enjoyed, something like Fred. However as I got older I had got nastier towards people who saw him doing his videos at the age of 29 as cute, because to me it just became sadder the more he made videos of himself inserting himself into episodes of Phineas and Ferb as an adult. I stopped when I learned from his cousin that he has a job because to me that was enough of an indication that his mam and dad probably sat down with him to give him a reality check.
Also just to let you know, another reason why he stopped uploading his episodes of Phineas and Ferb is because his dad had a talk with him about it.

I remember him! He made some video or custom of a character he called “Boo” and it was a Thomas painted white, the inspired me to paint my take n play Thomas completely white when I was little
It wasn’t until a few months ago that I found his newest account. I remember his account from before that which is still up. I honestly thought he left CZcams and that was that but guess not. I only really found out about him sometime in 2016 I believe so I wasn’t there for his super early content. The fact people leaked his info and prank called his parents is just wrong IMO but I guess he’s just doing what he loves currently and that’s fine

Oh, yeah. It's funny you should mention me, because I might as well come forward with what I think in my end regarding Trainboy54. Personally, I do see him as a good friend of mine and he and I do keep ourselves up to date every once in a while. And I'll personally admit, behind the scenes, there were times when I'd be part of his content, let alone watch some videos of his and it did leave me in a state of cringe by a ton. But I knew I wouldn't want to shut him down and hurt his feelings, so I had to do what I need to do for him and go with what he's given to me. And I'll admit, there were times that I wish I could've just stepped him and stopped him entirely for stuff that'll get his accounts terminated or him getting tons of hate and criticism or both for that matter, but sometimes I just couldn't do it or he went ahead and did it anyways. Let's not forget that time during the Summer of 2012, where me and Jon were being hated by haters and trolls and even those prank calls that happened around that time, I will say it right now, what has happened around that time was of course, mainly my fault. I take responsibility for what happened entirely and I should've handled it in a much more mature way compared to how I reacted 10 years ago, to which, yeah I did overreacted. I do have a whole lot more to share to you given to what I'm saying on here, but that's what I can give to you for now. But I do hope it's what I can give to you as someone associated with Trainboy54 entirely.
To be honest, I do admit see Jon's content cringy nowadays mostly because of him crossing over TTTE and Phienas and Ferb of all things because comes across what a Pooh's Adventure fan would make. But, Just because someone cross overs multiple franchises that doesn't make any sense, doesn't mean they deserve to be scolded, critcized ,harassed, or bashed. While, Some of the critcisms that Jon received are justified half the times such as: Camera and Audio hasn't improved and Editing the characters faces to gives an expressions hasn't improved either. But, Like I've said, "He didn't deserved this treatment". TrainBoy54, Is at best; Just normal guy on the internet who's uploading content that he loves to produce and like you've said before "I think Jon's doing what he loves to do, so why bother to stop?". Which is question that I hold heartedly agree, besides people need to learn that just, because someone's annoying, cringy, or obnoxious; Doesn't they're a scummy person. It's like to old saying goes "Do to person, As you want them to do to you". Also, To the people who are comparing Jon and freaking Chris Chan of all things; Rethink what you've just said. Because, Jon is in no way; shape or form of him. Let tell you something Chris Chan committed damn incest with mother, Let that sink in.
That’s the internet for you. They go and attack someone they deem cringy or annoying, they see someone with some similarities to Chris Chan as “The Next Chris Chan”. But yes, he is nowhere near as bad as Chris Chan, especially after the stuff he did since late July 2021. I also saw in the past that some people were sending death threats to Jon in the comments, which he probably deleted them or reported the users to CZcams, which is a good thing to do.

It's worth noting that SaltyDKDan reacted to the Trainboy54 Anthem, which can be seen in the "Pokemon H: The Movie" video on Salty's channel, at the 28 minute mark around.
Trainboy’s content is low quality, but he clearly enjoys what he’s doing, so I just leave him alone. I hate cringe culture.

I'll be honest I never quite understood the hate for Trainboy54. I was under the impression he must've done something bad but I guess not. Not every Thomas youtuber has to have 5 star Oscar worthy content.

He's pretty much the reason why my channel name is what it is. I do feel bad for him being trashed for doing what he loves. I remember one person saying he is a pedophile and that's just complete and utter rubbish. If he was a pedophile, he wouldn't be doing his stuff anymore. But even though I don't follow him as much anymore, I am glad he is continuing doing what he does best.
In one of his Trackmaster race videos he literally subtley pushed over James to make Spencer win, I think.
With that being said, there's nothing wrong with believing in Santa as an adult or living with your parents, as long as it doesn't affect you negatively.

This Is Story About Trainboy54
I was watching a lot of Thomas content on CZcams back in 2009 and 2010 but stopped shortly before 2011 when I grew out of the franchise. No I never watched Trainboy54’s content, only hearing about him years after initially from his kiwi farm thread and that Emmy awarding anthem. Dude’s definitely a weird guy that’s for sure!
Anyways I would love to see you cover other Thomas CZcamsrs from this time period. One youtuber I have in mind I think was named Flying Scotsman productions who I think got his channel deleted for swearing (?), don’t quote me on that

nice look through in Trainboy 54, I'll admit I have been hostile towards him, because of the cringe content, but as I got older, I decided he isn't worth making fun of, while I do understand Jon needs to improve his content, but at the same time, why bother saying the terms over and over, just a waste of time. Besides, he isn't harming anyone, he's just a guy making Thomas because he loves it. While I do admit making Phinises and Ferd customs is like, weird, his painting abilities are really good. Personally, there are more content creatures worth watching.

Also, if you may know I've always actually. have remembered this CZcamsr before I've just seen only a few of his videos and mainly his custom showcase videos also. One thing to note here, when I plan to make a You Tube channel my own I wanted my channel name was meant to be trainboy 58 as trainboy 54 was the one that inspired me this To be a Thomas youtuber but it never came to fruition because I didn't want to meet the same fate as what happened to him So that's why I've decided to change that name to RockySchulz686. And fun fact, I'm making a series of my own. That's not about Thomas or, nor is it related to it.
But this was back in my elementary years. So for some reason I had to be a teenager. to have a CZcams channel, but hey, I'm 18 now. and I'm finally doing it

This comment was uploaded in 2017 or 2018. Not sure what the cringe island part means, but this is a second source for the claim about the edgy joke.
lmaooo hi thats me, i dont remember the jokes he made but he did them every single friday on the school tv, It was called jons jokebox. And cringe island was like a cringe comp series thats prolly deleted by now. My friend and i watched a lot of those, we only knew jon from school and had no idea he was famous til he showed up on one of these comps. It was pretty funny lol I heard him talk about train videos before but when we seen him on the cringe comp it all made sense. Its been 10 long ass years since HS but I think its funny cause I seen someone commented on my old ass comment, Me and my friend still talk about this. LOL. I Was Around The Age Of 7 And It Felt Like I Was Really Liking Him. and when i joined youtube September 30th 2018 I still known him. aware of his Existence and his 1 channel that got terminated. and when he made more customs. Particularly The MLP Ones. thats when i started to turn sour on him.
