    Thanks for making this video! I've replaced my front and rear fender flares with the Bushwhacker ones and your video was great showing the step by step, way better than the instructions that came with them.

    I just did the driver side of my 2-door JK using your video as my instructions. Worked like a charm! My install has aftermarket inner fenders so it was actually a lot easier. I only had to make slight changes to get them installed but now I'm all set up.

    Greetings. I did buy some used Rough Country Fenders here in NZ. They were pretty rough and did have the speed clips on them and only 1 sample bolt. So I spent about a month gathering all of the pieces together to attach it all in one go. I found a product that restores the black fenders. Its called SEM Bumper coater. [manufactured in America] I used this after water blasting old dirt off! Perfect. I also could not get and found I didn't require the adhesive as the fenders sit right close to the body of the JK . However I did have major issues with the very front closest hole next to the headlight. I modified that part and used a speed clip instead of the plastic push clips. So Thanks again for your video. I totally use it as a fitting manual. There was one other thing. My JK is 2008 and not all holes in the rear fender lining were punched out for the plastic clip. But thanks again to your video here I sussed it out. Cheers and Regards!

    There is a knock off kit they sell on amazon that a customer brought me to install, everything seams the same but the hardware wasn’t nearly as nice and some of the hardware didn’t work, and the rubber lip is different, but pretty much all the holes don’t line up where the speed clips are the hole are way off. Took me a lot of time to make it work.

    Hi James,
    Excellent install video! Easily one of the best I've seen for any type install! So happens I have these flares in the box on my porch and my beautiful bride is asking when I will install. Quick question. Do you think it's possible to only drill out plastic rivets connecting the rear outer fender to the wheel well, thus leaving the wheel well (liner) installed for marking? I do not trust myself using the new install hardware temporarily. I may seek a different temporary fastener if needed.
    Thank you,
    Tony

      @RubiconUnlimited  Před 4 lety

    Seems like every time I buy something for my Jeep and look for videos, it turns out you copied me and bought the same thing, LOL. Great video, again!! Hardest part to me was putting the weather strip on the fender and the final alignment of those annoying little holes to the speed clips.

    • @RubiconUnlimited
      @RubiconUnlimited  Před 5 lety +2

      Haha I'll have to give you a heads up next time, or vice-versa! 😂
      Yeah the speed clips were a challenge, but blocking the void behind them with duct tape (or anything else) keeps them from sliding back. Found that to help out a ton!
      Thanks again for watching 👍

    Hello and thank you first for the detailed video. Very cool. Can you please tell me if the bushwacker fenders are the same width as the stock fenders? In Switzerland we have the rule that the profile of the tire must not be further out than the fender. How wide are the front and back fenders at the widest point? Thank you and greetings from switzerland

    • @RubiconUnlimited
      @RubiconUnlimited  Před 4 lety

      Hey! They are very similar in coverage to stock. Here are some measurements frm the body to the edge of the fender. Front: 9" back: 5". Hope that helps!

    But, please, could you tell me exactly the width of theses flat fender front and rear mesured at the central axis of the wheel ? Best regards.

  • @brandofamily
    @brandofamily Před 4 lety +1

    Not sure you still monitor this but, how did you get fronts to leave enough space for hood latches? On mine, just installed but didn’t pull tape backing yet, the trim is pushed up onto hood latch. Doesn’t seem like it will lay flat. Yours seem to have more space. Another tip, I put red electrical tape over the speed nuts so I could see and center them with awl easier.

    • @RubiconUnlimited
      @RubiconUnlimited  Před 4 lety

      Smart idea with the red tape! My trim has enough space.. Wondering if your braces are on correctly? Maybe the sides were swapped?

    • @brandofamily
      @brandofamily Před 4 lety

      Rubicon Unlimited I don’t think you could fit the braces if swapped. I did notice on your hood latch replacement video that the after market latches seem to just touch that trim. My latches are after market from Drake and I am planning on doing the JL latches.

      @RubiconUnlimited  Před rokem +1

      Good question, and glad you kept that in mind. I'd wait for a nice day at 15 degrees or more, things always turn out better that way. Plus overall the install will be more enjoyable away from the cold haha
