आईसीसी T20 वर्ल्ड कप 2024 के लिए भारतीय टीम का ऐलान होने के दो दिन बाद 'आज' यानी के दो मई को कप्तान रोहित शर्मा और चयन समिति के अध्यक्ष अजीत अगरकर मीडिया से मुखातिब हुए. इस दौरान उन्होंने वर्ल्ड कप टीम चयन से जुड़े सवालों के जवाब दिए. टी20 वर्ल्ड कप के लिए 15 सदस्यीय खिलाड़ियों को चुना गया जिसमें रिंकू सिंह और शुभमन गिल का नाम शामिल नहीं हैं. दोनों को रिजर्व के तौर पर टीम के साथ रखा गया है. T20 वर्ल्ड कप 2024 का आयोजन वेस्टइंडीज और अमेरिका की संयुक्त मेजबानी में होगा. भारत अपने सभी लीग स्टेज मैच अमेरिका में खेलेगा.ऐसे में रिंकू को टीम में ना शामिल करने की भी वजह कप्तान रोहित ने सबको बताई. वर्ल्ड कप को लेकर और भी बड़े सवालों का कप्तान रोहित और चीफ सिलेक्टर अगरकर ने जवाब दिया.
