Thanks Taren! These tips helped me make my first triathlon a relatively smooth experience.
Great tips as usual, Taren. Gearing up for my first Tri on 5/21. I've been slowly getting ready for this over the past 6 months or so, and I started at 320lbs, now down to 270 and finally in a Tri Suit that fits. Your tips have been great for my training and motivation. Thank you, and keep them coming!
I've come full circle. Been watching your videos for a while training for my 1st tri, and here I am watching this older video getting pumped for my race tomorrow! Thanks for all the help!
I have to say that these are some of the best videos I have seen. Super simple. Great advice. Not a bunch of technical mumbo jumbo.
Thanks Eric! I'm not very bright so stick around and you'll get a lot of non-technical mumbo jumbo. Haha
+rTc417 right on, thanks! I'm just starting and trying to grow this channel, so only if you're cool with it I would really appreciate any help you could lend with subscribes or shares with friends you think would like the channel too. If you're not cool with that, that's totally fine too, just glad to get messages from people like you who like the videos. Train hard!
Getting ready for tomorrow my second race! Love tip 4 especially if the owner leaves T1 before you do. (With my first race spots where assigned anyway) but love your videos!!
I'm going through my first triathlon this year and man... I'm fucking nervous, haha. Thanks for the tips, keep going the good work. Cheers from Brazil.
The nerves almost never go away, so USE them! Haha. If you liked the video I would really appreciate any shares or subscribes you're comfortable with. I'm building up my channel so that would be a big help, but if you're not cool with doing that it's totally fine. Happy training and good luck with the year!!!
Here's a new video on the Hoka One One Clifton 3s that are some of my favourite long distance runners for triathletes because they've got one of the smoothest rides of any runner I've tried czcams.com/video/euf1pIcfWO8/video.html
Very nice and cleverly done.. thanks
I am a Junior Triathlete on the WeTri Triathlon team. My first race of this season and first race training seriously with this team will be Wildflower next weekend as I was unable to race Half Moon Bay. Just wanted to say great tips as they were a good reminder of things to think about leading up to this race. Keep the videos coming cause they're awesome and really informational. Thank you!
Right on, that's awesome that this is your first year! Good luck in the races, Wildflower is a beast! I'm just building up my channel, so any shares or subscribes would be a massive help if you're cool with that. If not, no big deal, just glad you're liking the videos. Kick the race's ass!
+A-Race Triathlon Taren Haha Thanks! I'll be showing your videos to the rest of my team!
Your videos have been very helpful preparing me technically, physically and mentally for my first triathalon in four days. :) Thank You.
Just completed my first Triathalon yesterday. Nautica Malibu Classic. I'm 54 yrs old and entered the Clydsdale division. I was 230 when I started training in May and was 213 on race day. I was 5th and there was a podium medal, so that was cool. As an ex-rower my coach used to say you're about as fast as you train. That sagacious piece of wisdom was about right, I did exactly that; splits in all three were about how fast I was pacing during training. So training and all your tips from the various videos they definately made a difference in approaching the swim and handeling the transitions. More lead time to train and intervals and I should be able to improve. Thank you again. Very helpful .......mission acomplished. Plus the race and its competitiors raised over 1.6 million dollars for Childrens Hosppital LA.
Wow just came across this old school T-man trainiac video! AmAzing back then but you’ve come along way! Congrats
I just released a new video called "24 Hour Triathlon Nutrition Plan for Beginners" peep it here: czcams.com/video/xrLsMf7WuCQ/video.html
The Olympics is coming up and you better believe that I created a video preview of who I think will win and who I think will be on the podium in Rio. Here it is: czcams.com/video/IbP1mFesMP0/video.html
Definitely did 3 or 4 of these in my first tri... Definitely agree with you!
If you're new to triathlon and under if your training is set up properly you might dig this video czcams.com/video/KM46lIoXehQ/video.html
hey taren, thanks for all the training motivation! kind of off question, but do you know what jacket youre wearing in this video? ive seen it in a few of your vids and it just looks too comfortable. keep up the awesome stuff!
Great video!
Thanks man, glad you liked it! Hopefully it's useful this year for you. I'm just building up my CZcams channel, so if you are alright with it I would appreciate any shares or subscribes you're comfortable with. If that's not cool with you, that's totally ok too. Happy training!

Good to know! Thanks

Good evening taren, just registered for austin Texas ironman this coming October. I noticed you mentioned if this is " your first race you shouldn't register for an ironman" *sigh* it's half ironman. I have about 6 months and 15 days. So, I don't know if I will be ready before then. But I'll follow your videos as much as I can to be prepared. Thank you so much for your videos. Ps if you have any tips for me I would appreciate them. Thank you again
It's no problem, just go in with the mindset of finishing as opposed to fearful or over confident. A proper mindset entering the race will make it very enjoyable. Good luck and keep us posted!
Fairly big update for anyone new to seeing this CZcams channel czcams.com/video/ci5DrmUXEFo/video.html
TT back in the day......When beginners were the focus

+A-Race Triathlon Taren seems like it but I gather information from channel like yours
hopefully the speed will translate to my 70.3 in June.
