    I would definitely love to see your pitches, I have tried pitching in the past with only character designs and story synopsis. But that didn't work, I think most publishers want an almost finished book or series, which really defeats the purpose of working with a publisher in my opinion. I get a larger publisher has a larger fan base but I would perfer working with a publisher who actually likes to work more closely with thecreative and help out more with the creative side.

      Yeah I feel you. Publishers will back projects in advance, but since it’s an investment on their end, they’ll only work with teams that they trust, so they need to have worked with somebody in the past at least. Or the creative team needs to be well established. Otherwise, they expect the team to have a finished product, proving they have skin and the game.

      Perfect. Just fyi, Dark Horse is one of the few publishers that doesn’t usually respond back unless they’re interested. I’ve submitted to them in the past and they never sent a rejection letter.

    How long does it take for a publisher to look through it all and give feedback?
    A month or longer?

    • @indiecomicempire
      @indiecomicempire  Před rokem +2

      I think on average about 2-4 weeks unless they specify otherwise. Some will send a response very quickly in which they confirm the submission was received and they’ll give you a timeline to review. Others you just have to wait, but more than like 5 weeks usually means they’re not interested.

    What publishers accept unsolicited submissions? Do any accept them without artwork?

    • @indiecomicempire
      @indiecomicempire  Před 2 měsíci +1

      There are a lot that accept unsolicited submissions but very few accept pitches without artwork. In fact I think I made a video on this topic, but I'm working on a new better updated video on the topic. If you join my email list or order my online course I give away a huge archive of comic publishers by category. czcams.com/video/Pf85kRlFttY/video.html www.hovencrow.com
