    Dont pick so harshly, you could hurt the frog. If you dont know what that is is that little triangle in the hoof and its very sensitive.

    I don’t usually say this but.. I do find this very satisfying! But also, you should never just drop the hoof like that or pick aggressively! The frog is quite sensitive and you might hit that part while picking his hoof. You can also see that the horse was in pain when he said “aggressively” he picked up his leg and tried to move it away.

    • @CherokeeGirl-kz9lu
      @CherokeeGirl-kz9lu Před 6 lety +2

      Løser weeeeellll...I do agree you shouldnt just aggressively pick it and just drop it like he did, but I dont think the horse was in pain. The frog can be sensitive when you cut off too much or it has something wrong with the hoof not just from picking it out.

    The frog isn’t as sensitive as people believe.
    Trust me I’ve learnt this, I used to believe it was so sensitive you can’t even go over it with a hoof pick, you can you just have to be a little light handed compared to everywhere else, if the frog was that sensitive farriers wouldn’t be able to touch it let alone trim the frog.
    Obviously if you stabbed the frog it would hurt the horse big time but it’s not so sensitive that you can’t touch it with the hoof pick.

    OKAY DUDE LITSEN never be aggressive with the frog it is a very sensitive part of the hoof when you pick the frog it feels like when your clipping your finger nails to clip the skin and don’t just slam the hoof down put is down gently.you should know this by now it’s one of the very first things you learn when riding.

      @moosepadaleski6377 Před 6 lety +2

      Those2equinegals ! The hoof is not indestructible and when being aggressive you can easily damage the frog or hoof walls. You are NEVER supposed to aggressively groom or handle any animal. Hoof picking should be done at a moderate pace with a firm hand.

      @those2equinegals846 Před 6 lety +2

      Moose Padaleski I do. My horse and my friends horse is fine

    • @moosepadaleski6377
      @moosepadaleski6377 Před 6 lety +1

      @@those2equinegals846 Sure. Scrub the fuck out of your skin and rip the shit out of your hair each time you brush it. Aggression in not part of CARING for the needs of an animal. You can firmly pick a hoof but if the horse flinches or moves you risk serious damage by being so aggressive. Just because 'its fine' does not mean it's right.
