- Kalimera! Victoria and her family finally moved to the Greek island Salamina! Today we will show you the moving process from Neo Faliro to Salamina. The apartment in Salamina is not ready to move in to yet but we will show you how it looks like right now. A lot of boxes and very messy😅

The word is Καλορίζικο literally meaning "Good roots", meaning have a good, long and enjoyable time with your new possession (the term is not used only for houses, but is general for any new thing someone gets).
Also Podariko is the custom were a person walks for the first time or just after the change of the year in a house, preferably with the right foot first, they will transfer their personal luck to the house, so the luckiest family member is expected to be the first to walk in.
Perama means passage, since it is the place one passes from the mainland to the island.
If I remember correctly, from the last time I visited Salamina, there is a good view of the Naval Base there as you approach the harbor with the ferry boat.
Always avoid to show anything from there in your videos or take pictures of the base and the ships there.
This base is the main Naval base of the Hellenic Navy and not a museum like Averof, so you could get in serious trouble, spending a lot of time in order to convince the Base security people that you are not a spy.
Many foreign tourists, especially bird or plane spotters got themselves in a lot of trouble in Greece by taking pictures around military installations.

It's been a while...
They say kaloriziko = kalo + rizikό - mind the stress on the "ό" (καλορίζικο = καλό + ριζικό),
where "kalo" means good and "rizikό" which means destiny, what is written. Kaloriziko means this new "object" (whether this is a car, a home, or whatever new and considered important) to bring *you* good luck. You can use this word even for persons, e.g. when two people just got married we can wish "kalorizikoi" (plural) to the newlyweds.
So, congratulations on your new home and may it will be *kaloriziko,*

Hi! Inside the bottom of the sea, at the place the battle happen, all dead warriors, dead horses, ships, weapons are in perfect shape. Salamykonos when the tunnel and the bridge get built will become a lot more accessible and people will move there from Athens.Probably investors will come and it will become more touristy than now.Salamina has everything I was almost raised there.Has something from both sides ,city and island so it's perfect for children.In the winter it is a bit melancholic but you will get used to it ,not the same for a visitor and a resident 😁All in all it's a good choice and it will become even better in the future! Don't forget the taverna ΚΑΡΝΑΓΙΟ I have mentioned it in previous comments ,seriously one of not the best tavernas in Salamina .(No they are not family this is free commercial 😂)
