- Packy takes on Ryan from @BarnzyBowling in a 1 v 1 match there's a catch. The oiling machine is broken and they have to get out the spray bottle an mop to oil the lanes! They each get to oil the other person's lane, and then they battle it out!

You should both put a custom oil pattern out on the kegel machine one on each lane, you pick one and he picks one and both a game that way.
Something I've always wanted to see tried is having the lanes oiled in reverse. Put out a pattern from the pin deck going towards the foul line.
@@douglasiles2024 you can do that with a custom pattern :)
They should do this on tv
@@douglasiles2024And dry in the middle but oily outside.
@@douglasiles2024that would be interesting since the ball would enter a hook super early. An idea I've had was to make the inside boards lighter and the outside boards heavier with oil. Like another kind of inverted oil pattern
Great video .. I don't like the string pins though 😞.. but a neat way to do this. I am surprised the lanes seem to work as well as they did after oiling by hand .. I am impressed!!
Haha! We used to pot bowl this way. Oil sprayer, drag and rag, and throw in the cash! This is great guys!
Thats a blast!!
The 8 lane wood house with above ground ball returns I grew up in hand oiled the lanes in the early 2000s still. A 190 average was king there and the house record was 279. I miss those days.
279 house record is crazy!!!!
Oh lord!!!😂 Keep the funny videos going Packy!!
The thumbnail going crazy. I don't need to see packy throwin it back while oiling up the lanes.
Been watching you for a while as a high school bowler, love the videos!!!!
Packy, I'm loving the jynxzi references. R6 and bowling are both of my hobbies and I get both?! Best clip of the week
Great video Gents!
"No fouls in action" - Get's me every time, haha!
my two favorite bowlers!! keep up the good work fellas
1:36 Look at that Tarzan String Messenger, it would have knocked a whole rack down!
Hahaha!
String pins?!? Are scores still valid when you’re bowling at string pins?
Bro that thumbnail is 🔥🔥🔥😂😂😂
This is how it was done when I started in 1966.
We did it the same way in the 80's. We didn't have synthetic lanes back then. It was all wood and some of the boards were warped.
Yea the hand oiled you can make em easy if you do it right, you can also make them hard!
Love the content guys! Notification squad! 👊
What was that devious look at the beginning about 😂😂😂
The thumbnails have been going berserk recently
packy you are my inspiration
Yes٫ more hand oiled lane content٫ let's go٫ lol 😂😂😂😂
The thumbnail is outrageous 😂
Packy Pattern, coming to a house shot near you.
Heck we oiled our lanes like that (by hand/mop) back in the mid 80’s lol that brought back memories
These thumbnails are gettin clean 👌🏾
For those who haven’t bowled on string pins: the ring 10(7) is quite common in string pins. Going high or light is the play 😎
I tried string pins for the first time yesterday. I left a ton of ten-pins.
If you leave the 6-10, all you need to do is hit the 6 slightly and the string will take out the 10 every time. String pins will end bowling.
packy my new nu blue hammer just came in looking forward to using it any recommendations
Love the barnsy appearances
This is literally how my house oils their lanes before league....I wish I was joking
You poor soul... lol. I feel for ya!
Why would they do that? I'm sure they could find an older used machine for a relatively cheap price. You use soo much less oil this way and save soo much time. As well as having better bowling
YES! I've been waiting for a youtuber to do this. Welcome to 1985 in the little 10 lane houses we learned to bowl in. :)
Only thing missing was the overhead scoring to burn your hand on and the wax pencils.
Out of curiosity, what kind of oil was used?
The same we use in the machine down on campus not sure which one but i know its a kegel oil!
Oh I remember those days. Keeping your own score! West Point Bowling Alley, my parents were on the Sunday night league my entire childhood. Dad and I still bowl 2x a week some 35 years later!
Loved the concept but does show how important the oil condition is for scoring ..
Old-timers that oiled their own lanes by hand could set up a really easy shot and shoot 800s in the 1970s
not from what I saw, an 800 was very rare .. the equipment wasn't as good as it is today.
Good luck
Yo pack the thumbnail is on another level lol
I used to bowl at a place that didn't have a machine for oiling the lanes, and they did it with a mop and bucket. There was usually so much oil that I could have ringed out my towel and oil would drip out.
Hey Pack!!! If I was thinking about switching to DV8 what would be a good start one 2 punch?
these thumbnails are top tier 🔥🔥🔥
Clearly we have some recently hired help!
The last time I seen Ryan was 2006 I believe. Chris and I were practicing in Lewisville and Ryan and Troy we're with Chris. Linda didn't come. Back then I remember they drove a Honda Pilot. I've bowled against Chris several times but not in PBA events. I've bowled many PBA events but Chris wasn't there. Aaah, the younger and good old days.
Wellcome to the club... Now drag clean the lanes
Sick fist bump 0:58
Hand oiling lanes. I used to do that for a living.
awesome video God is good
video idea: A game vs you and a friend where the *lowest* score wins. To not make this way too easy, you can do one of two things with the gutters. 1) gutter balls = strike or spare depending on 1st or 2nd ball, 2) you use bumpers. You could even take it a step further adding a rule that missing the pins on 2nd ball = spare, meaning you have to hit at least one. pin. and not just chuck it where you'll be certain to miss everything.
so just lowball?
@@paradoxmailbox more or less... but gutters = strikes/spares or use bumpers
@@inter_1097 gutters=strike/spares has always been the lowball rules
these thumbnails stay being wild 😭
what kind of oil is it ?
in 3:48 aint no way the pizzas name is Da´Bronx Bomber ☠
When I started bowling in the 70s, all the lanes where done by hand. But they used a backpack sprayer for the oil.
I work at the bowling alley on the United States Air Force Academy. I see those are string pins. We are currently having string pin machines being built. What are your thoughts about string pins vs regular ones?
sooo i broke my ball recently.... do you have any suggestions on what ball i should get?
I used to bowl in a house that hand-oiled.
Had our lane machine go down and one of my tech "hand oiled" the lanes while we waited on a vacuum motor.... She didn't hear the part about the spray bottle...and...she oiled the lanes with a mop and bucket full of $400 worth of oil.... The amount of the cleaning the machines needed after that was..... I was throwing 20mph w/no hook...
It just proves you don’t need any crazy tools to make your own homemade bowling alley.
Late 80’s worked in a 12 lane house. We oiled by hand and stripped once a week also by hand. That was the longest night of the week😂. Drug the lanes after every session during the week.
Sheesh, how long did it take to oil the lane by hand?!
what does it mean to move in the direction of your miss?
If you miss right move closer to the right so it might hook
Not sure when the house I bowl in currently went to machine oilers but I've been bowling league since the late 70s I believe they had a machine then. But what I do remember most is you earned your score there for many years it was known to have a tough carry. 1980/81 first 800 shot then I don't believe another until late 80s early 90s. Wood lanes until early 90s.
practicing for the Snowman Doubles already???
BACKROW CHALLENGE also FIRST
8:15 “Fully above air?”
Hey Packy. Just an FYI, the instagram link on your website takes you to the wrong instagram page I think.
So now your content is mainly string pin bowling?
I have no string pin lanes around Albany NY. They look OK. What is your thoughts on it?
They look like the carnival game that they are. Count your blessings that they haven't been forced down your throat yet... with the emphasis on "yet".
Next, try pouring oil indiscriminately all over an entire lane, and play on it
Your in Kansas I saw the whichita dude
That use to be done with a bug sprayer and measured with a micrometer.
Video idea: Actually Bowl instead of using string pins.
Long time ago I stripped the outside 10 boards with chloronite 8(removed all oil)
Light oil from 11-20 but put a curve of 90 weight oil to the pocket and voile 300 games out the ass! In fact it was a small 8 lane scratch league later that night, left the shot out and they crushed it! Needless to say I got called into the office for what I did lol
I hand oiled lanes 5 days a week back in the seventies!!! 🤣🤣🤣
That’s awesome!!!
Are those certified string pins by USBC?
I hope not... because if this is a good as it gets, then competitive bowling is doomed.
As soon as I realized they were string pins I stopped watching🫏
Getting ready for Snowman Doubles?
Ehh not sure if i can bowl this year!!
@TheHouseBowling it won't be the same without you and Kev teamed up there.
you did the big four and the Greek church and the 7-10 split challenge, why not do the 2-8-10?
0:32 Whip they floor
Man that thumbnail is cursed 💀🤣
I like these 2 part 1v1 challenges. I guess if you oil the lanes yourself, there isn't anyone to blame but yourself for the lane conditions. I don't know if there are any lanes left where you can set the pins yourself. No more bad racks. 😊
Whats with the DAMN STRING PINS?? N😡-N😡
How about you all bowl on a stripped lane, but oil your ball before each shot instead?
Cool video talk to tech bowling bowling ball packy open bowling
Are they licking their hands and then touching their shoes? o-o
Watching string pins is painful.
Shot 279, 720 tonight. I'm not saying it was because I watched this at work today...but I'm also not not saying it.
Im not sold on those string pins
Let’s go one of the first
The heal touching… 🤮I get the reason but shoe to mouth lol
The phrase "string it" should not be a part of someone's bowling vernacular...
Y'all have no idea. When I bowled back in the 80's all the lanes were wood and we had to oil the lanes everyday. We didn't do it like you. There were dead spots and we only had one ball to bowl with most of the time.
We are truly lucky!!
Please go back to normal pins I hate string pins
We have a nice mix of both! Lots of bowling at northrock on the normal and also some on regular!
All supporting string pins does is take another job away sadly.
Packy I'll be straight up. I love your content but man I can't stand watching string pins.
Yucky string pins
Fantastic vids do this on a real bowling nextime tho. Strings are cringe
Bad aim bad aim!!!!!
Do backwards xmas tree pattern. You won't break 100 with 40' of length.
Stop bowling with string pins you heathens
Packy looks horrifying in the thumbnail
Not on strings nooooo!
You guys should do a challenge where you guess how many pins are left by the sound of them
You should try a dry lane, with oil painted onto the ball in carefully planned areas, so it slides on the oil then flares off onto a dry bit of the ball
thats actually a cool idea. not sure how well it work in execution but cool nontheless
