  • OrangeBoxPhoto reviews Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 tripod designed for extreme outdoor assignments. The legs and the column are made of 100% carbon fibre combined with magnesium die-casting quick action lever locking collars. Each leg can be independently set at four different angle positions. This professional tripod provides great rigidity and lightness, combined with the best professional features such as the patented Q90° centre column system. The magnesium top plate integrates a levelling bubble.

    ... this tripod saved my life during a live baseball game coverage - its a real life saver, with its high quality material! Never give it back!

    Thank you, you're the only review out of 10 I've watched that shows this tripod fully extended.

    I actually just ordered this tripod last night. I read multiple reviews that said the 054 head fits better on this tripod than the 055 head, even though the 055 is supposed to be designed for this one. Based on those reviews I ordered the 054. But since I won't have had both heads, I can't comment on that myself.

    Intelligent review, thanks. One detail that's worth noting I think is that that the centre column can easily be removed to make packing for travel a little easier. I use a Slik AF2100, an excellent pistol ball head that adds another 15 cm/5.5" height.

    Great review, I was considering buying this tripod, watched this video and after a lot of considering I want and bought it. It was totally worth the cash it costed! *Satisfied*

    they are both great tripods, my main reason for getting the manfrotto was the Q system, it help get those shots you just cant with a normal tripod esp macro and product photography, the system is very strong i have had mine a while now and its solid. as for the legs over time if they loosen they can be tightened manfrotto provide a tool to adjust them with, the twist locks do eventually wear with no option to adjust them as i have had this system before which is another reason i chose manfrotto

    Great review there, you would have sold it to me if my heart was not already set on it. Now waiting for the package to arrive and take this baby outdoors.

    Just bought it, even though i havent seen your video before. Just wanted to have a look at the unboxing to check my tripot because i got it from an auction. But I fully confirm your opinion. Its just an awesome peace of equipment!

    overall both will last you a long time both are great brands and built to last, gitzo have traditionally always costed more but from my experience of owning both brands is their build quality is as good as each other. so really comes down to which system fits your needs best.

    @coastalmum your welcome glad i could help, plenty of heads to choose from there is a 055 ball head that is matched to this tripod by manfrotto, but i must admit im really impressed with the tripod Ive always use giotto's tripods which are great but manfrotto has the edge in my opinion.

    manfrotto do their own padded bad for the 055 series tripod a little on the pricey side compared to others but it is well made and will last for years to come, but their are other manufacturers out their making bags be sure to take into account length of any head you buy in overall length though

  • @OrangeBoxPhoto
    @OrangeBoxPhoto  Před 12 lety

    personal thing their a equally as good bags padded as well from other manufacturers, as for ball heads manforotto has the 498RC2 Midi Ball Head with 200PL-14 QR Plate or 498RC4 Midi Ball Head with 410PL QR Plate for around $100 which are quite good

    I appreciate the review - thank you. You may want to watch it yourself. I had to turn the sound off because you started pretty much EVERY comment you made with something that sounded like "AHH" , "And" or "AMM". It became incredibly irritating and I simply could not continue to listen to you. I really hope this little piece of information is useful to you.

    because i hire 500-600mm lenses and needed a 057 to take the extra weight that and i got the 057 cheaper than the 055 as they had an offer on it which was too good to pass on, it overkill on my everyday use and if i had have got a good deal on it would have bought the 055

  • @OrangeBoxPhoto
    @OrangeBoxPhoto  Před 12 lety

    nice, i don't think it really matters what head yo buy to put on it, im using the 057 head on mine, as long as the head you use meets your needs that's all that matter in the real world! :)

    @ahmedbadr86 that sucks, its not cheap in general to begin with without price hikes i take its because its all imported to kuwait.

    thanks for the reply. is it worth another 40 bucks for the padded one? also, i dont know which ball head to pick lol.. usually use 60D - 17-40L - some GND filters - other than that is 70-200.. i shoot mostly landscape.. can u recommend me one that is below 150 dollars(ballhead) ?

    Could I purchase this tripod for video work? I really want a carbon fibre one for its lightweight feature, I would look to attach a video head to this.

    • @OrangeBoxPhoto
      @OrangeBoxPhoto  Před 9 lety

      Hi yes would be fine but get the least amount og leg extentions you can as fewer make for a more stable tripod as the legs are thicker

    • @joepearson279
      @joepearson279 Před 9 lety

      Do you know whether there is a tripod with less extensions but still carbon fibre? I would want the tripod for still photography too! Thanks

    Ridiculous, careless mixing of centimeters, feet and inches.
