    Not even buying the shitty art, buying a meaningless and worthless token of the shitty art. NFTs really expose how much of investment, high art markets, and tech startups are just money-making gimmicks.

    It's funny how Cryptozoo probably still took more time to make than Cryptopunks, because those may be handmade, but only consist of 24x24 pixels. Photoshop takes a little bit of time per combination of animals. I don't know how many there are though or how long it would take on average per image.

    • @Evansimp
      @Evansimp Před 2 lety +2

      Try pixel art. Less pixels is actually often somewhat harder to work with.

    • @vonkyk
      @vonkyk Před 2 lety +3

      Yeah but Cryptopunks were computer-generated. Back in 2017 they were free to acquire for anyone with an ETH wallet. So, it is nonprofit experiment. Cryptozoo is just a scam.

      @NaudVanDalen Před 2 lety

      @@Evansimp No, it's way easier. It's just an excuse to make worse art while pretending that it's harder even though it looks uglier. Seriously, why are many indie games made by one person or a small group while AAA games have hundreds of employees?

    can someone please summarize to me how crypto works in simple terms?

    • @moketotoke
      @moketotoke Před 2 lety +13

      cryptocurrency is RARE digital money. Instead of banks and credit card companies keeping track of transactions, payments are verified by a network of decentralized computers that verifies the crypto in real time. There is only a certain amount of crypto to ever exist. Bitcoin and Ethereum are the two titans.

    • @whatdatdogdo
      @whatdatdogdo Před 2 lety +9

      It also takes huge amounts of power and electricity for the computers to maintain the the network and produce crypto

      Someone starts an account and convinces idiots to “invest” then the admin withdraws the money and the idiots cry about a temporary crash while trying to talk others into investing. It’s a white hot ponzy scheme that burns out quick.
      Notice one comment above says there’s a rare finite amount of crypto while another says more can be found (mined).... how does that contradiction begin to make any sense? Lol
      It’s a big fat scam. Notice everyone has heard of someone whos made a lot of roi in the crypto but nobody knows anyone with a ton of real money extracted from doing it?

    • @moketotoke
      @moketotoke Před 2 lety

    You might as well buy Cryptokitties because those have crashed since their peak. At least they aren't photoshopped Adobe stock images. Still no real use. Might as well buy a new Pokemon game for $60 and breed all the Pokemon you want and have more fun doing it than this crypto nonsense. Almost no crypto game is affordable. Most of them are extremely scarce, so when they get popular, you have to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to do anything. In Decentraland, a single plot of land costs over 20 grand. Their entire world is 39 MILLION times smaller than a single Minecraft world and you can rent a Minecraft server for life for less than the price of a single plot of land in Decentraland. It's not moderated, so you'll probably see a lot of swastikas too. Although to be fair, you also see them in Minecraft, but you can destroy them and ban the griefer.
