I would have to say my favorite is Ikit. I always go back to him first when I want to play Skaven. The workshop, nukes, and his amazing almost OP power when leveled to heal while casting on a doom wheel is so fun. Even before that his warpthrower does tons of damage before he goes into melee or supporting a unit from the flanks. The lower cost of the weapons teams combined with Skaven artillery make it a blast when they all open up on advancing armies. The pure chaos of summoning rats only to warp bomb them while the insane barrage hits the enemy followed by a nuke for fun makes being surrounded by enemies in the best Skaven city always a good time.

Vlad von Carstein is my favourite lord and campaign. You get to take Drakenhof super early on, then battle your way to Altdorf with Isabella, become the Emperor, then unite the Empire before the coming of Chaos. With his faction you also get the bloodline lords which gives massive diversity amongst your generic lords, and tonnes of heroes running around with endless skeleton stacks. Great fun!

That Morathi campaign sounds epic as hell, holy crap. I think my favourite campaign that I've actually finished would be the Eye of the Vortex campaign as Kroq-gar when the game first released. Was pretty hype. I like the lizardmen's strong infantry and their skinks and monsters... it's all good. I usually like factions with great ranged units but I did enjoy that campaign

Yeah I can't say I'm a big fan of campaigns where one of the 'usual' factions gets to snowball outside of your area of operations and then becomes just an army generator to fuck with you. Always enjoyed the ME factions who start in that general central area, Empire, VC, Grimgor, Thogrim, Brettonia, etc.

In the Morathi campaign at turn 192, you have 170k gold - and an income of nearly 15k per turn. Thats 2 fully loaded armies bought and paid for -easily. Ive seen alot of youtubers clinging to their gold when spending it could boost their armies/cities so much. It seems to be a disease amongst your kin ;) I'd rather have another army and conquer twice as fast, but thats the beauty of the game, Play it as you want to play it =) - with just over 2k hours of TWWH2 75% of it spent as the Empire btw (For the Emperor!) I am just getting more and more addicted to the game, 47years of age and the game of my dreams come to life, whats not to like ;) - Thanks for all the videos, really enjoy some of them.

Honestly, my favorite has to be Wulfriks campaign. Norsca as a whole is really interesting to me and the buffs wulfrik gives to early game marauders is essential to his campaign. Having to go fight and not rely on my lands to make me money is really unique and forces the player to seek out battles to earn money and built up a big bank. Then there is the Ordertide. After you have taken all of Norsca, you are the PRIMARY target of Bretonnia, the Empire, and Kislev. It is a constant turn for turn slog fest that never gets boring honestly. The unit variety of Norsca is some of the best and once you get late game mammoths and fimir oh boy can you lay the smack down on some pompous humies. Also all campaigns I play are either Legendary or Very hard so it isn't snowballing, it is to me the definition of Total war. P.S. No doomstacks either, not fun for me

The most fun I've had is with the Exiles of Nehek. On VH/VH or legendary it's a lot like Morathi, except you don't have the raw power of the Dark Elf roster and economy. It really made me reexamine how to play Tomb Kings. The normal strategy is to get Ushabti asap, but for the Exiles I'd actually recommend getting lots of chariots and Screaming Skull catapults. Funnily enough, I never seem to count as an order faction after the Chaos invasion either...

Ikit Claw yes yes! Easy at the start but ramps up quickly as the Empire and Dwarves start to come your way. My favorite move is to try to make Tyrion my friend. It's very hard to do but possible (basically you have to declare war on every one of his enemies).
    .
I also really like Tomb King campaigns. Their recruitment mecahnics lead to a lot more army variety and I really enjoy that. Every battle is different instead of settling on one samey tactic. Plus they have a really fun campaign on the WH2 map instead of the silly race for the vortex. Khatep is my favorite because of the challenge of working your way through the Dark Elves to get back to the desert.

Lately I have realized that, one of the better strategies is to handicap at least one, if not more, of the "big players" early on if you're playing as a bad guy faction.
If you can take out Karaz-a-Karak or Reikland early on you can save yourself a lot of grief later. None of the other Empire or Dwarf factions seem to confederate quite so wide as those do or get nearly as strong.
With Dark Elves, it's kind of a double edged sword because, they're mostly isolated from the big big factions but you have to fight basically every High Elf faction to get a foothold while also dealing with other Dark Elves, Skaven and Tomb Kings who will usually end up fighting you as well. By the time you get a good foothold, it's way to late to try and sail across the sea and stop Reikland. Similarly Lustria and Southern Continent factions have a tough time.
It's just seems like the old world order factions just grow in power exponentially because they have very few enemies to fight. Lustria is packed to the gills with opposing forces. The Southern Continent is a mish mash of people who are all semi isolated from one another. Rarely you will get QUeek emerging as a big deal but he rarely does much after a certain point. The Old World however, Empire and Bretonia have a very easy time growing and confederating with very few expansionist minded enemies to oppose them. Dwarves as of late are finally starting to have a hard time with orcs. All I can think is, maybe Norsca needs to be a bit more aggressive with Empire and Bretonia to help give it a bit of challenge.

    2) Imrik: Who doesn't love the smell of fire breath in the morning. his start is very difficult and the inability to trade for a while isn't helping, but his options of expansion are great and varied... plus dragons :P
    1) Repanse do Lyonesse: I love to play the hammer and anvil gameplay and Bretonia was interesting to me straight from the start. Unfortunately, the "anvil" part of their army is horrible and the default Bretonian starts tend to run out of expansion options very quickly. Repanse solves both issues, her buffs to infantry and peasant units make the infantry actually competent, she herself is a beast in combat along with her companion (Henry le Massif), and unlike her mainland brethren, she actually got lots of room to expand as I wish, with a decent variety of enemy types early on too (vampire counts, tomb kings, beastmen, lizards, dawi, imperials. greenskins, skavens and vampire coasts a bit further down the campaign)
    Honorable mentions:

I keep multiple types of armies with multiple types of heroes and leaders but most provinces are pretty much uniform and bland, I felt rome 2 was very compelling on that front. Once I secure the plane of bone, I build up as many archer units as possible and arrow spam Clan Eshin before they can even begin to look west.
I have found Clan Helhein are rarely aggressive, and they almost never expand or take back their lost territory. Usually Hag Grief will just watch as you and Snikch kill each other.

I've played a ridiculous amount of this game. I've completed 1 campaign with every single lord except a couple of the newer lizard men. Favorites stack up as follows:
    1. Clan Eshin (yes Ikit Claw's campaign is cool but the dark deeds and the armor piercing bonus to gutter runner ranged weapons make the difference here for me. That armor piercing bonus changed the entire play style of the skaven to be even more hit and run which I loved)
    2. Tik Tak To (Of all of the lizard men he ranked the highest for me. Kroq Gar was too bog standard, Mazdamundi was too easy, I didn't play the other two in lustria and the horde campaign of the spirit of the jungle was more frustrating than fun. Tik Tak To though starts in a difficult position with few friends around and has an interesting army composition option with the bonus to the 'dactyls. Very fun.)
    3. Norsca either one (The raiding and pillaging aspect is fantastic and their isolation and unique port settlements make for an interesting empire management aspect to the campaign.)
    4. Special mention for Azhag's new start position. Having the green skins start with the empire factions as the main enemy was great and made for a very interesting campaign of allying with vamps only to stab them in the back and then allying with other green skins only to stab them in the back. Fun and thematic.

Still working on my first mortal empires, using vampire counts and I feel like it's gonna be a hell of a learning curve with no ranged units amd lots of meat shields. I'm surrounded but I'm gonna use a skeleton spam to bulk my army numbers while keeping my economy running.

Do some SFO campaign series, one thing I hate about vanilla is AI can spam doom stacks and the only way to counter it is spam your own doom stacks, becomes pretty stale after turn 100. Wish there's an option in vanilla to have lords get gold caps like Multiplayer.

Ikit #1, also if you do a full ranged army with the mortar, sniper and gatling gun regiment or renown. with the green and the purple projectiles and explosions it just looks like your in 40k. also probably the most op army you can build that's not your most expensive unit as a whole army

Finially Malekith being the Boss that he is, being the true Pheonix king taking over Lothern n claim the Eternity King title by owning the wood elves too was my goal.

Hellebron Hellebron>Repanse. They are the 3 campaigns I have had the most fun with. I have tried so very hard on more then one occasion to like High Elves but honestly they feel like the most tediously boring faction. I know a lot of people are gonna argue Dark Elves and High Elves are kind of the same but they arent not even close.
Also I realise Repanse is just a free DLC but she has one of the most engaging campaigns there is starting in Araby really helps make an otherwise boring faction amazing fun.

Decided to do a Morathi campaign thanks to this list since it's been a while since I did one. Went in thinking "There is no way the start is as hard as Heir makes it out to be". Boy was I wrong.
First try: This dark elf faction is getting rolled pretty easily and Nagarythe hasn't declared war yet, this is ez.....wait is that a full high elf stack that I'm at war with? WHY THE FUCK AM I AT WAR WITH TIRANOC?!??! *Tiranoc proceeds to call Nagarythe into the war and they proceed to roll me over*
Second try: Alright, I'll just sit at the start city until I level it up and just farm rebellions for cash and xp. *Nagarythe declares war and teleports 3 armies on top of the city when I was out raiding for a bit of cash*
...maybe this is a bit difficult after all.

The elector count update was in my opinion very poorly made. At turn 200 making 20k per turn and almost having 140 provinces I still wasn't able to confederate because the AI has a totally random chance to ask you (you cannot ask them to confederate) even if you have 10 fealty with that empire faction. The units were cool but that system is incredibly dumb.

This video is just an excuse to brag about that Morathi campaign, isn't it? It does sound insanely epic though. Just before the Grom patch, I did a vh Greenskins campaign to get an achievement and going against only the strength 1 Empire is weary enough. I don't find late-game slogfests, where you have to fight an epic battle twice every turn very enjoyable, it's just too much, even if I'm winning.
My favourite faction is Gelt. Empire, +10 faction armour and mountain climate habitability add up to it.

I know you're an expert in Warhammer 2 and you've played far more than I ever will but I have to disagree - the Morathi campaign doesn't feel fun to me AT ALL. It feels like playing against annoying computer bullshit . Between the unrest mechanic, the disloyalty for underlings and that both the elves and Twin Sisters can just steamroll you if the AI decides to go that way it's a terrible campaign to play unless you know all of the ways to exploit the mechanics of the game. Try to play it as a newer player and even on Normal/Normal there's a good chance you just get face-rolled, either by the opposing factions or just your own cities and troops when they become disloyal. The game isn't good about teaching a new player how to counter those mechanics, so unless they want to go watch hours of videos they're just going to get fucking destroyed.
So while I get you loved the challenge, this video really does a disservice to anyone who doesn't have 1,000+ hours in the game by recommending Morathi.
