Personally, I like when you divide up the brief history videos into several parts. I remember more of the information and enjoy it better. It's like eating a large pizza one piece at a time
I think Shooters would be a great topic to tackle with the "A Brief History Of..." format. You'd be able to show the inspirations behind the first fps games, their evolution through the 90s then the current climate of shooters we see today.
My only problem is that is seems like a very common topic. Most people know that they took off with Doom+Clones and Quake, and as for continuing to the modern day, they're everywhere. A more specific topic, like the shift from 1st vs 3rd person might make a better video.
