As someone who won the war of finally getting away from that hellhole of a game, I couldn't agree more with this statement. The lore is SO good, but the game is a whole different story.

@morris_c0de463 it's not just the chat. It's so many things like people throwing games, inting the enemy team when one little thing goes wrong, and the balance team is pretty crap. I will occasionally play rotating game modes, but that's about it.

The reason people are saying not to play league to understand the lore is because league is not a game that gives lore through gameplay… if you want to learn the game’s lore go on the league universe page for that character, and read their bio and associated stories, and listen to their voice lines. But if you play a game of league, you’re not going to be learning much other than that it’s not the type of game everyone will enjoy.
That and League is addictive in a very unhealthy way

Of course Vi doesn't look comfortable, she probably has a ton of stress, she has to fight her own sister and on top of that she has to fight as an enforcer the thing that killed her parents. Im not sure why she would choose to be an enforcer but there was probably a good reason to and even though she probably doesn't want to be a enforcer, she is so strong for doing it anyway

What people don't get is hating the police is one thing but Vi was overall more fed up with Silco and his gang. And then Caitlyn came into the picture and earned her trust. I'm sure she still has a very negative picture in her head about enforcers, and politicians and after trying to talk to the Council she was disillusioned but her best shot at getting rid of what's left of her enemies is still with Caitlyn's help. It's sort of a strategic decision to join the team you feel you can manage the most on the side of.
Did we miss the part where Vi hates the police brutality thing because it caused her and her sister to be orphaned and that the police are the reason why the place she called home is such a slumland?

@@cinnastagWell with Jinx having officially gone off the deep end, all Vi has left now is Cait and Ekko. Maybe she tries to fit in with the Firelights for a bit, but I imagine they'd butt heads over who knows better and following orders. That leaves Caitlyn, who would probably want to reform the Enforcers and maybe convinces Vi to join up to assist her. Zaun does need cleaning up, but the Enforcers seem to treat everyone like a troublemaker or criminal. They can't identify the real problems. Vi can. Maybe not at first glance, she's been in jail a loooong time and things have changed, but she's gotta be a better judge of character than any topsider.
I think she's trying very hard to put her feelings aside to help Cait make Piltover a little less ignorant.

The players are correct, the game doesn't reveal much of her story.
That's why they should be redirecting them to the Universe page that hasn't had many updates as of late.
Ironic that Vi will become the thing that she despised. But realistically, why would Vi go back to a city that hates her, a sister that’s gone too far, and a past that makes her feel powerless against chaos and authority.
It actually makes sense that she’d think the only way things can will in Zuan, is if she sides with piltover. This is further reinforced by the fact that Jayce and Vi actually made a difference when working together against shimmer. I think she likes having the power to enforce change, and being an enforcer definitely let’s her do that.
Guess Vi forgot that she loves her sister and that the city that hates her does so because she did betray the city that hates her.

I admit, it feels strange for her to go the route of being an enforcer, i knew she was going to at some point and no I've never played League. It just feels somewhat out of left field after what we saw in Arcane season 1. Story wise, it might have been a temporary thing that became permanent for her. Honestly though when you think about it. She doesn't have a lot attachment to The Undercity anymore, Vander and her adoptive family are dead, Power has fully embraced Jinx (Argubly making her dead to Vi as well), you could say Echo but he's not a big reason for her to stay in the undercity.
Could also be, she sees becoming an Enforcer as the only way to get the Undercity back to how it was under Vander, acting as something of a go between/peace keeper between the two factions. Plus . . . Ya know, her and Caitlyns budding relationship. I can't imagine Vi had a lot of romantic options in prison

I think the reason Vi became an enforcer is probably inspired by Caitlyn. I can imagine that Caitlyn inspires Vi to make a difference, she hates enforcers but she sees Caitlyn as someone making a difference and being better than the previous enforcers and she probably thinks “if I join I can change the system from within and bridge the gap” Vi being undercity she knows the people making her involvement build trust between Piltover and Zuan she learns both sides and when working with Jace she saw she could do better with Piltover’s support and someone like Jayce’s knowledge and her brute and knowledge of Zuan.

Be an enforcer. Caitlyn an Enforcer Vi is very close with, Vi helped destroy the shimmer factory with the jayce and the enforcers. Vi is hunting down Jinx to save her sister and end the potential war.
Everything in season 1 showcases that Vi would be some kind of mercenary or an enforcer lol.

I played league one time and played non stop for a week or 2 and couldnt get the hang of it. Then the wildrift game released on mobile so i downloaded that and its all i play cause its not as complicated😅
You can play league...but NEVER ALONE !!! The game in itself is insanely good...but the toxic and addictive side of side is a serious thing.
The only real way to ignore this problem is to play with friends in a voc. It detaches you from the game, removing the addictive part greatly, makes you better at the game (because easier communication and the ability to learn from the other's mistakes), makes you WAY less toxic...and basically solves every problem league has, leaving only the good side : League is a fantastic game...

From the end of Season one, I can tell you that NONE of the characters are even CLOSE to the end of their development. About halfway, at most.
And it's also extremely important to note that Arcane is a prequel story to a current world and set of characters that are STILL expanding. They might not reach their game forms by the end of the series.

Plus with the storyline it’s taking she might not even STAY an enforcer. Who knows. Jayce didn’t keep up the war hammer act. He did it once, decides he didn’t like it, and immediately put the hammer down.
These are adaptations, not replicas. My guess is that Vi probably isn’t doing this willingly considering her history. Like-maybe they dug up records, saw that she was SUPPOSED to be in prison, recognized that she has been protecting Kaitlyn the whole time, and assigned her as Kaitlyn’s partner. Knowing Arcane it probably won’t be that just because I said it, but that’s probably the general idea of why she becomes an enforcer in the Arcane universe.
No she has to stay an enforcer because the dumbasses at riot made arcane cannon to the core universe, so either the current game lore is gonna dictate hoe arcane ends or after s2 ends they'll update the game lore to reflect what happened in s2, I doubt they'd make the decision to strip vi of one of her main character trait in the game

So arcane has this premise that magic is just INCREDIBLY rare, like you see magic performed ONCE in your life time at best. Jayce and his mom being saved with magic makes him go nuts for the stuff, he's like hyper focused on magic, that's why he creates the hex cores, which as we know, is magic and technology basically fused together. The technology part is super important to it because without technology that plane humans (such as jayce, Viktor, jinx, silco etc.) have access to, they can't harvest magic, so stuff like the hex gate could have never happened. Because magic is just so damn inaccessible to ordinary people (and non ordinary people as well considering how we see PLENTY of high class characters who are just as bewildered if not more bewildered by magic such as jayce yet they have no access to it). That's the world that the show Arcane exists is. Magic. Is. Extremely. Rare.
But now it's cannon. Cannon in a world where magic is as common as dirt. For fuck's sake the main characteristic of Ionia is that the land is imbued with so much magic that it's actually insane. In Ionia every plant, every fiber if the land is borderline purr magic. Arcane is cannon in a world where a whole continent of people know of a millenia old witch and her deadly ice magic, a world where ordinary people make contact with demigods, worship them and get imbued with their power and transform. A world where a levitating gold disk is drawing magical power from a whole ass continent which gave birth to an empire, where turning people into animal like half gods was basically a right of passage. Arcane is cannon in a world that was almost covered in a deadly fog that crawls with undead creatures, ghosts and ghouls that was created because a dead body touched a sacred pool of water. Arcane is cannon in a world where a warlord was so pissed that he died that he basically willed himself back into life, then he died again on PURPOSE just so he could conquer the land of the dead. Arcane is cannon in a world where a whole kingdom openly oppresses, prosecutes and kills people with magical powers yet that very kingdom has hundreds of mages. Arcane is cannon in a world where a literal supreme god walks among the mountain folk. Arcane is cannon in a world where yordles exist, oh btw yordles are basically spirits that manifested from pure magic, who live outside of the known dimension and literally can't die because their magical essence is immortal. Arcane is cannon in a world where it's very setting (piltover and zaun) has a literal goddess watch over them (Janna btw)
See how much Arcane being cannon makes NO fucking sense? A story about people doing their absolute best to gain control over half magic half technology orbs, who exist in a world where a common man's fart contains more magic than the whole show of arcane. (And btw let's not mention how Heimer is so against hextech in Arcane yet in league, in runeterra and his own short stories he is OBSESSED with hextech to a point his lowkey crazy now)

@@divineavi6303 yeah except those magic orbs are extremely rare. Camille's story tells us that. Magic is common but magic powering machines are not. There's a reason there's only one camille running around piltover. There's also a reason only yordles have consistent and sustainable hextech and why heimer is afraid of them. At least yordles are smart enough to use them responsibly.
@@imhappy._. first of all, I don't think hex cores are THAT rare, I mean when a pair of broke parents could go out, buy one while they posses the knowledge on how to use them and how to incorporate them into items I think the "rare" part is obvs faulty.
I also don't agree with your statement: "Magic is common but magic powering machines are not". As far as we can tell league's magic has no limits, like that magic can turn people into god like beings, so I have a hard time believing that it can do that, but powering machines is out of the window and hextech is a must to achieve that.
Plus yordles don't have access to hextech. In the core universe only Heimer has, but how could he when he was kicked out of the city in arcane? Yes, he most likely will come back but don't you think it's dumb writing that in season1 heimer was only used as a tool to tell everyone that hextech can be dangerous, but then in the span of less then ten episodes (where he won't be that important let's be real) he suddenly just LOVES hextech.
Face it, in Arcane hextech was born because magic isnt common. But in the core universe it's extremely common. But now since arcane and the core universe are one and the same, nothing makes sense and everything is all over the place.
Season hasn't even come out yet and people immediately screech about cops being inherently evil.

Vi’s gearing up as an Enforcer because they’re the only game in town to 1. Not get arrested and 2. Be allowed to fight Jinx’s faction without 1 happening. It’s weird for show-only folks because we’ve gotten three exceptionally good scenes of Vi’s Core Memories being based primarily around Enforcers Bad Forever.

You know, usually when I watch a cinema adaptation of a game, it's a pretty trash representation of a great game. With Arcane it's exactly the opposite; it's quality makes you think LoL might actually be good, so you try it, but then you realise how bad the game is😂

@beepbop1762 only a problem if you are good at the game and playing ranked. If you are a casual player it's so much better becuase there are more players your skill level in pvp. I started on PC but the game is just so hard to play when most ppl have been playing for years and are so good and punishing mistakes. In Wildrift you will play against tons of people similar or lower skill level than yourself if you are Em or lower (WR ranking, I never played ranked on PC, but I was prolly bronze or silver)
@@marycoffelt3041 Yeah fair point. I do play ranked so I have a pretty tainted perception of Wild Rift in the ummmm player skill department. I mean I suck too, but I hear countless people playing troll in ranked reaching Master+ with horrible horrible stats that it feels quite pointless to climb.
Aside from the ranked crappiness, the game is fun on its own. At least if you're experiencing a shitty game it ends in less than 20 minutes and ff is not even necessary half the time lmfao

They aren't even the same character tho, they use the lore as a base but everything that happens in arcane is different, that's why it's better
I’m sure you’re going to hear this alot but it is the same character and Arcane is now the default lore. They were not going to fully change who she fundamentally is they just want a cohesive story now.
