- iPhone 13 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro - which smartphone to choose in 2023? With the release of the new iPhone, many people have a misunderstanding whether it makes sense to buy the iPhone 14 Pro, or is the previous model just as good? After 6 months of using these smartphones from Apple, I am ready to draw a conclusion regarding which iPhone to buy now in order to get the maximum necessary features from it and not overpay! Am I the only one that liked most of the 13 pro shots better? I know they are more sharpened and have more contrast but at a first glasce they look better (I think) and that's what most people care about
and why are the angles so different, .... it's like they're trying to make the 14 look better or something..
i think it happens because the AI on the newer phones is still "learning", compared to the older phones
I regret upgrading from the 13 pro max to the 14 pro regular. It’s so much worse in every aspect. I don’t know what apple did in their recent update but it’s made the 48MP camera image processing look horrific.
Have to remember this was Apple’s first 48 megapixel camera. So it will be about another year before we really see the improvement. I mean the Pixel 5 in a lot of cases took better photos than the 6 cause it was googles first 50 mega pixel. Software needs to catch up.
@@doomy_doomy2225 thing is though, when I took the phone out of the box and tested the 48MP, it looked amazing. Almost like DSLR quality. But in the most recent update, something changed. It’s like they had it perfectly worked out and then fucked it up with this update. I hope you’re right, looking forward to them fixing it.
I love when tech channels like these tell me to not buy the newest phone, as I’m on a 12 pro. Doesn’t make sense when updates are this incremental. Thanks!
13 pro is pretty big update from 12 pro since you have 120hz screen.

The only differences with 13 Pro that are worth the upgrade are:
- Cinematic mode
- Zoom (up to 15x)
- Better lens
- 120hz screen
Besides that, there is no any big reason to upgrade
14 Pro is fantastic but the minimal focus distance truly lacks behind the 13 Pro.

Very good review, very informative as well. But, I think it's always better to take pictures of the exact same subjects from the exact same angle with both phones, as it makes for much better reference.
I upgraded from the 13 pro to 14 pro and I’ve hated it. I’m actually going to be downgrading back to the 13 pro next week. The dynamic island is annoying and really not that useful for me

Notch looks better IMO and the island cuts into content more since its not at the very top of the phone. I had the 14 Pro for about a month and went back to the 13 Pro mostly due to lack of the SIM card

The 14 Pro series really great at first glance because of that dynamic island. But as you glance and look at it longer, it looks awkward compared to the notch. I guess it really is subjective, it can be good to the eyes to some but not to all.

The Pro shot comparisons on this video, were different perspectives, so it was hard to truly analyze the difference. Which in my opinion were very slight. Head shots were no different to me.

I think the peak brightness for me is a huge improvement between the two. I work outdoors in the sun all day and I have glasses that are transitional. I was struggling to see the display on the 13 pro. The 14 pro didn’t have that issue at all

I’ve decided I’m keeping my 13 Pro until they get Face ID under display. Not as worried about the camera being under the display but want to not have the notch or a cut out that big for dynamic island.
It would be stupid upgrading from a 13 pro there is barely an upgrade. Better to wait for 15 pro.
If you have a 13 pro you should wait at least 3 years, that phone is an absolute beast. The A15 is so advanced that they left it in the 14 and the cameras are fantastic. There’s really no real reason to upgrade from a 13 pro IMO
I upgraded from an XS max to a 14 pro max, it is a worthy upgrade from me, since I bought the XS max as a used device.

Go for the 13 Pro, the dynamic island is a gimmick. The camera isn't a big upgrade either as people say, but the battery life and battery health is actually substantially better on the 13 Pro. Save yourself some money

im buying a almost new 14 pro max and on the website the silver color costs $50 less then the black that i want should i spend the extra $50 to get the one i want or should i just stop being picky
If you use cover then stop being picky. If not then go for the one you want
I have a really old Android and am thinking of buying an iphone and I'm really debating between 13 pro and 14 pro. I've read a lot of fantastic reviews of 13 and the processing of the photo seems much more natural to me. The 14 reviews talk about oversharpening, screen scratches, less battery life and super heavy raw files that are impossible to transfer. But....i also kind of feel ridiculous buying an older model (13 pro instead of 14 pro) especially when 15 is about to come out.
After having experience with both phones, which one would you recommend?
Both amazing. I’d go 14 pro if forced to pick but can’t go wrong. Another year of update support is nice to have if you like to hold onto phones a long time

Should I update my 13 pro to 14 pro
I got the 14 pro after having my 12 PM for over 2 years. Only reason I upgraded was for some reason the volume on my 12 was so low I could hardly hear my alarm go off and I could hardly hear media I play through the phone. I had enough. The 14 pro is alright, nothing special

I don't entirely agree with what you are saying. The iPhone 14 series might be a bit better, but not enough to justify the upgrade.
Even in the photos you took, I can't see any difference that blows up the iPhone 13 pro.
And the Always-On screen of the iPhone can't even be compared to that of the cheapest Android.

The notch has a far way to go and only devs can make it better. There’s so much you can do with the notch if it was available. I see the notch becoming very useful within the next 2 years. Just got a 14 pro. I have the 12 I didn’t need to upgrade but I did.

Only reason id get the dymanic island would be so that my phone doesnt look prehistoric in a few years, especially if im paying that much. the same thing happened to the home button, people rationalized the iphone 8 but soon they looked too outdated despite them being not too far behind camera/processor wise

Got the 13 pro on Black Friday for 100 off, PLUS a $450 Walmart gift card. It was no contest over the 14 pro, which only had a 350 gift card and not 100 off. While the island is genius marketing, I continue to hate it. I have multiple friends that have it and every time I see or use their phone I can’t look past what an eyesore it is, similar to the damn senseless disrespectful notch slapped onto MacBooks. The island does extend further down into the screen.. which is the exact opposite of what I want. It’s “features” remain pointless to me. I don’t stare at a timer counting down. My use of maps is fine as it is. I can swipe down into control center to view my music. Am I missing something? Oh- the fact that it’s at the most difficult to reach area of the phone if you’re holding it with 1 hand! I really don’t understand a sane rational person actually preferring any aspect of the stupid island.
Anyway. The higher peak brightness on the 14 is nice- and I feel the white balance on the screen to be more accurate. I’ve spent a good bit of time with both phones side by side. The pro raw on the 14 is nice, but otherwise I prefer the pics on the 13. Curious what the 15 will look like camera-wise. Cuz I could probably break even if I sold the 13 pro for about what I paid for it. .. then get a good Black Friday deal on the 15 and do the same thing next year lol

Why are the 13 Pro photos different from the ones taken using 14 Pro? I mean, obviously the ones you took with 14 Pro were taken differently, they are centered, have more things to show in the background.... I don't get it
13 Pro looks much better aesthetically including the notch. I mean.. the dynamic island is protruding more into the actual screen itself so to be honest, it's very bad design. Apple should have just kept the dynamic feature on the top notch so that the stupid notch doesn't cover the content on the screen.
Yeah the smaller camera lenses look a lot better. The 14 pro lenses stick out so far and take up so much of the phone.

I regretted buying a 14 pro and I'm about to return it. In the photos the HDR is too exaggerated. I take photos of food and I like the colors to be warm, as well as being able to get closer to the subject. I'm keeping my 13 pro. I thought about selling it, but no. The photos are much better. I'm very sorry about the front camera. Well, I'll miss that one. She was really beautiful. But the main camera takes bad photos (the food looks gray and uncolored) and so I am forced to return it. What a disappointment..🙁 proposal for youtubers 🙏 do camera tests that include close and colorful subjects, like food, framed near a window inside the house.. it would be really useful 🙏

I have to say, that I strictly don't like these "Comparisons". Most of them are what I would call plain objective. If you would've taken pictures of the exact same motives, without giving the iPhone 14 Pro an unfair advantage as compared to the iPhone 13 Pro, we, from a viewers perspective would be able to at least notice the difference and make a decision.
