Hi Jodi I’m a sophomore in college and I’m considering the peace corps I dont Know exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life but i want to help people and wildlife I’ve been thinking about it and joining I could find a passion that will be life long but don’t know if its the right decision or direction. Im kinda just looking for your opinion. Thanks so much Ryan
The Peace Corps was an amazing experience for me personally. I enjoyed it so much. But it is very difficult for a few reasons, so you need to be really excited About it if you’re going to do it, in my opinion! But if you like helping people and wildlife I’m sure you could find a place in the Peace Corps that you would love!
Thanks this was helpful, though do you think that taking a gap year and joining the peace corps at the age of 18 is a good choice, or should I wait until I have graduated from college and have more experience ?
Most Peace Corps positions require 4years experience in a related field or a college degree. So depending on your prior experience, it may be hard to be Accepted at age 18. I would recommend doing college first if you plan to anyway, but everyone’s situation is different!
Uh I can lift things.... 😅
I've really enjoyed watching all of your videos on the Peace Corps! I'm graduating college at the end of this year, and I'm deciding what to do next, and Peace Corps has really caught my interest. What made you decide to volunteer? When did you know that volunteering was what you wanted to do? Thanks!
Congrats on graduating college! I wanted to Volunteer personally because I wanted to be immersed in another culture while doing something good. I didn't want to do the typical traveling where I didn't get to really know people there. Everyone joins the Peace Corps for different reasons. I wish you the best of luck!
