    Part 3 Update:

    I hope this vlog finally explains everything. I have officially been diagnosed with Intestinal Failure. It's due to rapid transit in my small bowel which is now officially 9 minutes. I have extremely slow transit in my stomach due to my Gastroparesis which we knew about anyway, rapid transit in my small bowel and then slow again in my colon.
    Unfortunately there is no treatment at present, however I am remaining hopeful and I can also be looked after by the IFU unit in Manchester.
    As I said in the video, I was also told it's impossible for me to have SIBO, due to the rapid transit so it's more than likely the additional symptoms was the Fungi and Candida that was confirmed.
    Thank you all again for how amazing, supportive and kind you have been! It's meant so much to me and has really put a smile on my face.
    Hope to catch up with you really soon.

    You must be relieved to finally get a true diagnosis. Its frustrating having all these doctors telling you all different diseases it could be. I feel for you as you described terrible stomach pain n losing so much weight. I just had that happen with excruciating pain n losing so much weight. Although I have something way different than you, as I said I felt your pain with every word you said. It's good to see you're getting better n soon will go home. Sending healing prayers 🙏 ❤️ take care.❤️❤️

I’ve started recording a video about TPN to explain everything that’s happened so far but to be completely honest I’m still learning about it too!! ❤️❤️ xx

    SIBO can cause transit problems too slow or too fast transit causing malabsorption. Love to you Beth really appreciate your honesty and bravery so glad they put you on tpn I was guessing IF when you first got sick due to symptoms (IF = intestinal failure) I’m slow stomach & oesophagus > and varying intestinal as super fast/slow and colon is slow so hard to manage sometimes placements of a jej tube can sometimes rarely further push certain people/cases into intestinal failure as a complication xx

    • @bethgallery1140
      @bethgallery1140  Před rokem +2

      Thank you so much, it’s still so new to me!! Yes I’ve heard about how a J surgery can cause it, I was speaking to another girl the other day where that happened to her! My feeding tube revision surgery was in April, and the scan I had done that confirmed the intestinal failure was in January, so it was already happening before the surgery but I’m not sure if it made it worse once I had the surgery because all my main symptoms seemed to happen after the surgery, it could be a coincidence I’m really not sure 😫 because of how fast the transit it, my consultant said I would never have actually had SIBO because bacteria physically wouldn’t have time to grow, and the doctors here never actually confirmed SIBO via anything they just thought it was that due to symptoms, so I am more than sure the symptoms of my bowel was the Candida and fungi but tbh I will probably never know 😢 you are so amazing going through all of this, thank you so much it’s nice to know there is other people with similar things going on ❤️❤️❤️

    Beth what a horrible time you have had in hospital. My opinion is they left you too long malnourished and never really treated you and investigated properly and your dr in Salford was amazing and wiped the floor with excellent care and a official diagnosis which should have been sorted 12 months even 6 months ago. Can definitely tell put weight on and looking so much better. Glad improved and getting back to usual self. I know intestinal failure is a horrible diagnosis but it just proves a big of digging into issues and listening and even repeating tests prove a vital and life saving for you. Take care.

    Would a vagus nerve stimulator implant help with your digestion? The vagus nerve is the largest parasympathetic nerve- stimulation helps with a range of problems from autoimmune to inflammatory diseases. They’re also studying it to see if it can improve autonomic ns problems? Obvi increasing parasympathetic stim might help digestion. Just thinking outside of the box here.

Just curious. I am so sorry that this has happened but I am so glad your now on the right treatment & have a diagnosis finally even though it’s not what you would want. @@2bluebottle the scan I had done in January that confirmed I had intestinal failure that was missed, was a few months before my new feeding tube surgery, so I had intestinal failure before that. I’m not entirely sure how long it had been going on for but I did notice some slight weight loss before my tube surgery however after I had the surgery it seemed as though everything got worse, which I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or if it impacted it to worsen however the 13 minute from the scan was confirmed in January! Hope that all makes sense.
