    I love everything about these swing ideas. The balanced “rounded posture reminds me of Snead, Hogan, Player, Nicklaus, Steve...I could go on and on. The internal rotation of the righty arm in the backswing...brilliant! All of my favorite players have a “flying” right arm. The passive arms and handle on the downswing. Perfect. Rotate like an athlete.
    Favorite all time ball striker I’ve seen in person is Eduardo Romero. He does all of these things naturally. It’s such a poised and athletic way to hit a golf ball. I guess that’s why they call him “El Gato”

    This is one of the best informative lessons that Meandmygolf have done - lot of content well explained especially on the transition which dismisses the importance of the hands shallowing the club it is the body rotation that is king and this can only be done consistently if you have a balanced set up.

    I had allot of trouble this past season making poor contact. I was hitting every club so poorly I hardly played and even thought of giving up completely. I think the initial problem was that I was putting so much pressure on my lead hip by shifting towards the target and on my lower back trying to rotate in a position that was to much upright... ended up injuring myself. Like gg said you can't rotate when you're on your toes and we all know where humping will put your clubface. I did allot of work to make changes in my setup and allot of balance and core training. I had to bend over a little further, and make a conscious effort to keep my butt out hips down and back straight. I now feel the rotation happening more in my mid back and don't feel like I'm grinding out my lumbar. Once I was in the right position I was able to just make a natural feeling swing with no crazy swing thoughts. I'm now hitting the ball really well and i think I'd be in single digits if i could make some more puts. To make a long story long..... set up is important. :)

    GG saved my swing.
    1.) Slow the arms down A LOT.
    2.) Turn to the ball and let go.
    Basically stop swinging at the ball and start turning to the ball.
    Pulling on the handle = bad swing.

      You need to get the backswing and posture correct first.
      After that I would say learning the pivot.
      He’s real big on lead hip staying low while maintaining right bend. This was kind of the deal breaker or eye opener for me.
      I personally had to slow the arms down a lot. For me that felt like I was just holding them in place and using my body to get the clubhead to the ball.
      What are your current swing issues?
      You should buy a subscription to his online content. The videos are designed in order to take you from the basics to the complex.

    • @alvaroybanez5210
      @alvaroybanez5210 Před 6 lety +4

      Proven scientifically that 85% of the speed comes from the arms. What you are talking about is arms going faster than body and completely out of sync. Which is completely different from swinging fast with the arms. If you don't have fast hand speed where it matters, you won't generate club head speed. Check Tony Luczak. Great researcher and coach.

    • @alvaroybanez5210
      @alvaroybanez5210 Před 6 lety +4

      Of course everybody has his own personal sensations, but fast arms are necessary. I only think about the arms because I realised that the throwing motion that the golf swing is, I already had it ingrained. If I only think about throwing the arms, the rest of the body will act accordingly. In fact, Anticipatory Synergistic Activation shows that even if you think about throwing the arms, the lower body will go first. That's how our brain operates. Lots of good academic studies regarding the matter. Even Rory (arguably the biggest hip unwinding on tour) has said that he has never thought about his hip movement.

    • @ShallowedOutGolf
      @ShallowedOutGolf Před 6 lety +6

      Álvaro Ybáñez The lower body going first is great. But not just any lower body movement is going to work.
      You can throw the arms fast and get a rotation and Lower body movement...but that doesn’t mean you’re moving your lower body correctly.
      If you level out the hips too soon, you’re done.
      The hips don’t turn level. You can see that on gears 3D.
      Fast arms don’t always mean more distance either.
      A 90mph Swing will go further with a lower launch angle than a 110mph speed with too high of a launch angle.
      What Swing feels are going to get your 7 Iron around 16 degrees of launch angle is a much better way to look at the golf swing than measuring swing speed.
      What feels are going to get the shaft bisecting the forearm from DTL video?
      Club path, plane, hip turn etc are infinitely more important than club head speed.

    Great video and great information. But upon closer examination, we have contradictions. Set up. Slouch facilities turning back rather than standing up. Slouch facilities turning through and short arm. Ok. Then it becomes good to stand up, squat and turn, and then post up. So when is standing taller in the backswing good and when is it bad again?

    this gave me a feeling of lag ive never had before. Im hitting 30-40 yards more carry on drive and probably averaging more total distance than that because less bad hits.
    ive felt lag in my swing before but the only way i could get it before is to have such little grip pressure that the club kinda bounced off the end of back swing.. It might be good to have low grip pressure, not sure, but it felt a little wild to me. doing this , i was able to go back to a more comfortable griip and get great lag.
