  • When award-winning photographer Mark Harrison received a call about a mystery job for Newsnight in November 2019, he almost turned it down for a dishwasher delivery... he's thankful every day that he didn't. After arriving at Buckingham Palace in a smart suit the next morning, Mark soon learned he would be taking photographs of Prince Andrew whilst he was being interviewed by Emily Maitliss. After witnessing the infamous interview first hand, Mark was convinced palace guards were going to seize his memory cards… but instead they were published around the world. Ahead of Netflix’s new dramatisation ‘Scoop’ which launches tomorrow, Mark is here to tell us the real story of what happened in the palace that day.

      People react ''positively'' not to the interview or its subject matter but to the fact that it brough an important issue to light...

      I think it’s a copyright thing, and so no one claims copyright and therefore the revenue from the video

      Well, yeah, they blur the pictures for copyright reasons, but ......... I always laugh at the blurred pictures. They do it on Lorraine, Loose Women, as well as This Morning, even like a "stock image" of an apple, freely available and accessible on the Internet. They blur out every image they post on CZcams, in my opinion, sometimes unjustifiably.

    This conversation lasted a lot longer because Alison and Dermot kept interrupting! It was torture to watch!

      @yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Před 2 měsíci +1

      You don't know what ''torture'' is... Or ''interrupting'' for that matter. They just asked additional questions to lead him and reacted to his story here and there, that's how it happens.

    Journalists are told to dress up for filming an interview? Sweet Jesus, the royal deference goes on.

      Sweet Jesus, grow up and focus on a REAL problem instead of getting angry at the formalities. Nothing suprising or offensive here, of course there is a dress code in the Buckingham Palace ffs

    why is he betraying their confidence and trust by gossipping to the national media?

    • @yevgeniyaleshchenko849
      @yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Před 2 měsíci +3

      Whose confidence? His employees' or Royal Family? Anyway, he's NOT telling anything confidential or salacious, he's simply telling about his job on something that is already a public knowledge. Plus, it's obvious that his interview is a part of promoting film based on these events so it's all pre-approved...
