    I used to be hesitant about upgrading my X570-F BIOS (Old version from 2019) And I finally decided to update to the most recent version and this video is hands down the best video I’ve seen for it.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH, i got a repair loop and i was trying to fix it. the ONLY thing i could access on the entire computer was bios, but then i realized my bios was severely out of date and corrupted this was the only way for me to fix my computer

    Hey! Great video man. I’m just wondering if I’m supposed to download the latest BIOS update or the one it sais currently on my BIOS version.     So I just finished building my first pc and everything works and runs I just need to install the bios update and install an os. I have a ASUS Tuf Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) motherboard. Do I have to delete that one file when installing on the USB Drive or does it not matter?

      the BIOS file should be the only thing on the USB to avoid any issues.

    I am trying to install Lenovo Bios. I already have the BIOS files on my USB. I am aware of the Lenovo Bios utility but when I download it on my laptop, it tries to install on there. I want the Bios update on my desktop. How do I write it so it will install from usb drive G? D:\windows\system32> G: filename.exe ?

      No, you delete the file renamer, not the BIOS file itself

    Hey I have the exact same motherboard as you. Quick question did you put the drive in the bios usb port up top on the back i/o shield? Or did you just use any of the other usb ports?

      I always use the BIOS port at the back to minimize possible failure points.

      Another if you do not mind. When I extracted the newest bios 4402 and used the BIOSRenamer it removes the .CAP in the Name. I added .CAP to the name and ran BIOSRenamer again and it showed C7HWIFI.CAP.CAP will convert to C7HWIFI.CAP. Name shows up again as C7HWIFI. It shows that it is a .CAP file TYPE. Did this happen to you as well?

      Make sure that in your file explorer you go to the view tab and check the "File Name Extensions" in the show hide section. Extensions are probably hidden for you currently.

    I got a cpu upgrade and didn’t know I have to bios update for it to be compatible so I’m wondering if I’d be able to do this with a different laptop and somehow transfer it over.

      You can download the bios and prep the USB on a different computer for sure.

      Sorry, I misread your message.
      Because you have an incompatible CPU you won't be able to get into the BIOS. Unless you have BIOS flashback on your motherboard, you will be unable to update it without a compatible CPU.
      I have a video on how to do flashback if your motherboard supports it.

    I have the asus rog strix g17 model G712LW-EV088T . During the bios update my laptop shut down and when I powered it on there was a black screen with the message: please follow the steps below to recover your bios. I followed the instructions with the flash drive. When I put the usb flash drive in my laptop nothing happens. The same black screen with the message. How can I fix this? Thanks. I don't have the bios renamer option.

      Hey sorry but laptops are an entirely different beast, with something this new your best bet is to contact ASUS.

    When I start up the computer it has a flash of blue for less than a second and then a little bit of screen glitch and then starts normally. This happens just before the window logins appears, why is this and how can I fix it?

      No, drivers are at the OS level so you need to do it after booting into Windows/Linux

    this still doesnt explain how to do it for a seperate pc im having an isue where the pc witch needs bios update in not the same manufacturer as the pc i have runing and intend to load the usb with the driver so i cant run the manufacturers setup or theyr steps as it just says program not suported by current system

      same! i downloaded a lenovo BIOS update file using an HP, then conveted the files into ISo format, then transferring it to USB, so i can update on the lenovo before it logs in. But the converter refuses to convert the exe file into ISO.

      i did , it worked good, , but it worked the same that Showed in ur other video, , when I downloaded the most recently bios from asus website Is ( bios version 1402 / 2022/04/06 , ) but when I enter the bios it says , BIOS VERSION 1/27/2022 i don’t see the # 1402

      Laptops can be a little different depending on the year and manufacturer. If it's a more recent Lenovo laptop you can use the Vantage app to update your BIOS within windows.

    Who's here because of the tuf x570 pro which you have to update through bios flashback on the motherboard, because they got one that wasn't already preflashed with latest bios for ryzen 95900x.

      No, the only way to update BIOS without the board posting is if your board supports some kind of BIOS flash feature like I go over here:

      go to your windows search and find "create and format hard disk partitions". use that to delete the partition on the USB and format the USB as one entire partition instead.

      I have a lenovo g580 6 month back i install Ubuntu 20 and 2 weeks before i want to install windows but wont able to access bios and boot menu. Then read about grub loader then tried several attempts use all the tactics to boot from pendrive but it boot all linux distro but can't windows. The problem is 1 week before i was using elementary os and its been good . But few days i restart my laptop and it stuck on bios page and Lenovo logo is appearing after that it shows black screen and nothing happen .

      It's always important to know what version of software you are on before upgrading so that you can find out what is changing from your current version to the one you're updating to. If you're multiple versions behind there may be a handful of features added or changed since that you will want to look at after updating.

      Keep track of any settings you had changed before the update and then you manually have to go in and change them again.

      How many versions are between the current BIOS and the one you are planning to update to? Somebody else mentioned they had to do a few of the intermediate ones first. Typically if it says "selected file is not a proper BIOS!" it's because you didn't rename the CAP file or you're downloading the wrong one.

      Check your manual and it will likely mention a particular port you should use.

      @@_Caddac I did use the BIOS Renamer to change the name, but nothing happened. It is a CAP file, but the name didn't change. I'm also going to have to look up the manual. I think Asus should have it on their website.

      If your board has a BIOS flashback of some sort it would allow you to update the BIOS without posting into the BIOS.

      Any USB port on the motherboard but if there is one specifically labeled BIOS it's a good idea to use that one.

      It's working now. I've been able to boot the pc without CPU fan error. I changed CPU speed low limit from 200rpm to ignore then it worked

      If its a prebuilt computer u can look in one of the system settings, if u built it urself u should look up how to find it online, plenty of sites tells u how

      @@_Caddac i got it to work i plugged it into a usb 3.0 port and switched to a 2.0 and it seemed to work and i was able tp update bios

      @@_Caddac My laptop does not provide cap files, only exe. And the bios does not have any form of flashing or installing feature.

      Laptops are an entirely different situation, you'd have to check your user manual if it's even possible for you to update the BIOS.
