Quick question, If I leave the battery inside the blaster without using it for like weeks to months. Will the wire, gearbox, or the battery itself mess up?
Waiting for you to get a starfire or surge xl to take apart before I take a peak in mine but it does sound like it's actually got metal gears

So… an Splat R Ball is like an AK, while a Pulsar is like an Aarmalite.

They all have play in stocks and stuff. That doesn't mean it's loose, if it's too tight plastic starts to crack. If you pay attention, the play is VERY consistent. When you buy another pulsar you will notice it ALL feels EXACTLY the same as each other. Because the play is intentional.
Splatrball SRB400 and 1200 have 0 play in the stock connection. In fact it's so tight sometimes you have to hit it to slide it out. GB SURGE XL is tight, UNLOCX is tight. So in comparison the Hydrostrike is very loose and could be designed better. Agree that plastic will start to crack or yield if under constant stress, but there are ways to make it better than this.
Waiting on how to fix or mod this one. Had it for 8months and now got the whining noise. Looking for the next pulsar pro video to drop

Mods will happen. Don't do it with the SRB. Not worth it because of their non standard gearbox dimensions.

Got this gel blaster and its pretty good. The mag is now a drop out mag they must be updating their gel blasters

Yes, hopefully this gearbox is more standard than Splatrball, so it will be easier to replace the gears.

It's the same generic 7.4V 2s LiPo battery charger that all these gel blasters use.

@@jsanchez9084 I haven't dug into modding this one yet. The Splatrball gearbox is horrible to mod though. I believe this one should be better, but haven't had time to do it yet.

If NERF rails fit on Picatinny style tactical rails, then probably. I don't have any to try.

No, the Hydro strike and Gel Zone blasters use a better battery connector

Both have same power. Pulsar Pro or Gel Zone Kratos (same internals). UNLOCX is great, but their battery charging system is not good.

There's no drum mag available. I'm working on a 3D printed add on to the mag to increase capacity. Will share the files for subs to print.

Is there anyway to remove that flash hider on the end? I’m thinking about getting one of these but wanted to add a rgb tracer on the end
Yes, you gotta take it apart to remove that. End mount tracers are usually designed to screw into an outer barrel, which non of these budget blasters have. There maybe some adapter that attaches to the barrel. Otherwise, you need a replica blaster.
@@engineerable I wonder if it’s possible to just stick a tracer on the end of that flash hider. maybe somehow use some strong tape to hold it to it? Assuming the holes meet up ok
@@engineerable are you familiar with the SRB1200? I seen it has an exposed barrel inside it’s flash hider, I can’t find any information if it shoots faster than this pulsar pro or not
Flash hider just pops right off and you can 3D print an adapter piece to fit or order those metal threaded outer barrel sets (4 piece set different lengths) I use my RGB tracer unit on my M4’s so I’ve never wanted to mount it on my Hydro strike 😎👍
