    So easy to get at and simple to replace unlike the on-board breaks of the next bigger tractor the 4000.

    Thanks for the video. They look about the same as the older Ford cars and trucks. Going to be a little more involved on mine however since the rear axle is leaking oil into one side.

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  Před 7 lety

      Yes, very much like car or pickup brakes. The axle seal isn't too bad, hopefully yours has the later style axle which has a nut holding the bearing in place rather than the sweat collar, those things are a PITA. Thanks for watching!

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  Před 7 lety

      With a 1970 I think you should be in luck and have a nut holding the bearing onto the axle. Good luck. :)

      @CanadianRedneck15  Před 6 lety

      Check your axle seals, you may be getting grease on the brake shoes, also make sure the pedals are adjusted up so you don't have to much travel. If it isn't those things it may be time for new shoes. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    • @francismalonza6114
      @francismalonza6114 Před 3 lety

      My tractor was leaking oil into brake pads and the machine would not stop when loaded. I had to buy the oil seals and the problem ended. but a tractor with no brakes is the most dangerous thing to drive around. i hit a donkey and luckily the machine never stopped but pushed the animal out of the way and the trailer was loaded with murram. it wasnt interesting at all. the oil seals are cheap but the job is tearing down the rear axles to access the seals.

    • @CanadianRedneck15

      Most likely rust, you're going to have to free things up and lubricate, check your spindles, they may be stuck in the axle knees. Thanks for watching!

    My Ford 3600 giving black smoke on load what is reason Engine is in Good condition

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  Před 4 lety

      Diesels often blow black smoke under load, the governor in the injector pump kicks in and the engine is getting more fuel than it can burn efficiently. Unless it's something that hadn't happened before I wouldn't worry about it, if its new could be a weak injector, pump timing,,,,,,, you will have to check a few things out to find out what's wrong.
