- Today it's a late reupload of SH**BOX SHOWDOWN 2: PONTIAC VS. MERCURY. I had 20 seconds of Jay Leno's Garage in the first attempt, sorry about that NBC-UNIVERSAL, you know we don't mean to step on toes here. But anyway we pitted PONTIAC vs. MERCURY and here you go.
Pontiac Aztek vs Mercury Marauder is literally the duality of man.
You have to both fear and respect the man who prefers the Aztek. He has a justifiable reason, and it’s probably not pleasant.
My buddy had a crown Vic, it was a sight for sore eyes. But damn the thing had a kick to it and rode like a dream. I imagine the Mercury version was even better!

Also with the G8 Pontiac, you could actually drill out the spot welds and reweld a Holden ute rear to the G8 and it'd still be road legal

There's a shop in Colorado that specializes and sells Holden ute conversions to be street legal here. Pretty much doing what you described

I got a nissan quest with 365 thousand miles for free. The cv axles were terrifying and it locked itself when you shut the door, but it was the most reliable thing ever. The ac blew like 45 degrees immediately. It was also quick for no reason. 10/10 van

I had a 500$ murcury mariner that was a 265k mile smokers hotbox. I drove it every day to school for over a year and it would always start and run without issue. It was also 50% rust.

Capri xr2 was a sleeper. Miata block with a turbo. Same motor as 323 gtx. Turned the boost up and beat wrx’s with it fir 1000$ including the car.
Glad someone mentioned the Grand Prix at lest 😂 But besides the GTP supercharged Grand Prix there was also a GXP version of the Grand Prix that from 05-08 that came with a LS motor,bilstein shocks, and a staggered wheel setup

The Mercury Marauder was initially intended to be the Ford Crown Victoria police interceptor in 1998 but because of the cost of them Ford decided to shelve the project, but because it was such an awesome performance package they decided to rebadge it as a Mercury Marauder a few years later for just 04 & 05 i believe & it's an absolute beast of a car!
You guys should do a "boomer" only version of this series, since you guys chose so many late 50's early 60's cars on this vid xd

The last car my grandpa restored before he died was a 68 Pontiac GTO. He found a clean body but everything else was trash. He got a chassis from the junk yard and built it from there. He told my grandma to sell it after he died. She managed to get 30 grand for it I belive

As weird as the last gen Cougar was, I love it because of it being built on the Mondeo/Contour platform with the crispy 2.5L Duratec V6. Fucking phenomenal handling platform, which is why SVT took their hands to the Contours to make it like the Mondeo ST200.
The LN7s were quirky, but cool as hell. The Ford equivalent twin, the EXP, was pretty damn cool. Can be mistaken for a Fox Stang, even though it obviously isn't. They did pretty good trying to make the Stang and the Escort have a child. Heart and soul is all Escort, but the styling ques are pretty Fox-influenced

So does every Fierro based kit car count as a Pontiac model? Also don't forget the 2011+Caprice that was a stretched G8 that turned into the SS... Essentially the 2011 Caprice was the test bed and transition from G8 to SS.
The Caprice, G8, and SS were all Holdens rebadged and refitted to USDM.

It was however kitted out like the Gt just without the engine. Full factory body kit and all the options without the good motor.

In theory you should be able to supercharge a pontiac vibe gt with the harrop super charger kit
They are easily boosted with superchargers or turbos, the Toyota 1ZZ and 2ZZ engines are stupid reliable and don't take much work to make pretty decent power. 1ZZ's are easier to boost because of the lower compression, and therefore typically end up making more total HP, but with different pistons/valves in the 2ZZ both can achieve between 350-400hp. There are still a few forums floating around with build and spec lists showing how to get there if you are even still interested, I realize I'm necrobumping a 7 month old comment after all.
