That is a big part yes, but there is also a quieter but still distinct noise from the shutter opening and closing, even on a rangefinder or mirrorless camera. The exception is a mirrorless camera in electronic shutter mode, in which case the mechanical shutter doesn't even move. Something like an iPhone doesn't have a mechanical shutter, so no click, period. Well, except for the simulated click played over the phone's speaker if the volume is on!
I personally prefer DSLRs because I do astrophotography sometimes and it's much easier to focus on dim stars when you don't need to rely on the sensor to capture it. And if you can read the exposure meter shown in the viewfinder, it's pretty easy to get what you want
Mirrorless is just way better for street photography, small camera(will probably attract less eyes), lighter, some even have silent shooting Then I don't know why DSLR would be better than mirrorless in most cases
Better battery life, less expensive, better autofocus in most dslr's, mirrorless cameras are catching up tho. Dslr's have been around for longer therefore have a broader range of lenses, often less expensive also. Yes, mirrorless will soon rule the market but dslr's are a great way to get into photography because it's less expensive. Live view is also a thing, basically making a dslr a mirrorless camera
TikTok ... one big problems is that they never bothered updating DSLRS bodies. They could streamline newer DSLRS to compete with mirrorless, but it’s cheaper just to go mirrorless.

Mirrorless are better because what you see is what you get, but Dslr are ain't bad too. Professionals have been using Dslr's for decades now so its up to what you look for in a camera.
@@joeyveloso you cant jusr say one is better because people use them for different activities and also other dont like the mirrorless body being so small i have a nikon d7500 and a sony a7iii and i would rather use my d7500 because the body is bigger and has weight and i like that alot
Neither is strictly better than the other; they have pros and cons. For example, DSLRs usually have better battery life because they don't have to power an electronic display in the viewfinder. That being said, mirrorless cameras are a newer tech and where camera manufacturers are putting their current effort, so it's a popular segment with the latest and greatest camera models. Mirrorless cameras can be made a little smaller and enable short back focus lens design due to shorter flange distance mounts, meaning sometimes lenses can also be made smaller and lighter (especially wide fast lenses). But this isn't always the case.
With mirrless camera. You will get eye fatigue. Looking at something so close. In one eye and something father in the other eye. I still use my 5D mark III

Several years ago he put a gun to his head and killed him self. He knew his stuff.
it's one of our most frequently asked questions. Keep in mind that people don't necessarily know that DSLRs have mirrors or what that means exactly. Most people who own DSLRs aren't aware there's a mirror in there.
@@joshlia6469if you’re not into video there are very few compelling reasons to choose Mirrorless. Size is the biggest factor but there are plenty of us out there with big hands who prefer the superior ergonomics and physical button placement of a dslr over the relatively chintzy consumer quality of a lot of mirrorless offerings. Fun fact. The apple shutter sound was a recording of one of the employees very one film slr. The Canon AE-1 standard edition and they ran with it.
DSLR = WYSIWYTYG (What You See Is What You Think You Get), Mirrorless = WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get).

So which is better when it comes to take some shots?
Would you consider the r7 a good camera for photography more than video?
Does one type seem stronger for a specific type of photography need. Which do you most enjoy, by the way, Tony?
Ok, but why can my EOS R still make a clicking sound and why doesn't the silent mode work with anti-flickering activated or with flash? Thx.
It has a mechanical shutter! In my Olympus I needed to change a setting for flash to work with electronic shutter, might be the same on your Canon.

It's an FAQ
Many people think a mirrorless camera is a DSLR so it's a helpful video.
To show the mirror action better you should have used a camera where the mirror could be raised slowly through a manually operated mechanism.
