Our people is a nature worshipping people. We don't have clear image of our diety, it is mostly a stone. We have "umang" ,which is a place very rich in flora and fauna, which we worship and thus preserving it. So our folksong is mostly about living with and among the nature. Remember the natives of pandora in movie avatar 😃
I have been admiring and studying the meitei/meetei folktales and songs for over 4years now. I'm still learning, not an expert but there is one thing i clearly sees deep down about what the folks want to convey is to live happily and share it's habitat with nature and not to over exploits the nature.
