You can start with a comfortable length of thread to work with and add more thread when runs out of it

Im making it now and only have about 2.5 inches done of the first row. Its beautiful but im wondering what im doing wrong my points are not really pointy theyr more rounded... any advice how to get a more crisp point? Do you think itll look more pointy after added the extra rows?

You can do one thing, after you add 3 beads on both sides then go through the needle around again by skipping the pointy beads on each side.
