Shohei lowkey choked in the HR derby and he’s so talented he still almost won. Soto is my top 3 favorite hitters in baseball and still gotta say Shohei’s display was more impressive despite the loss. He tied Soto in basically half the time after blowing it the first 2 minutes, and all he needed was one in the last 16 seconds to win in the tie breaker.

The Angels are probably the most frustrating team in baseball right now. They’re so close to being a legitimate contender. They have three of the best players in the game in Trout, Rendon (I know he’s having a down year at the plate), and Ohtani, but their pitching staff has held them back so much. Don’t get me wrong, Ohtani’s 3.49 ERA is impressive all things considered, but they don’t have another guy in the rotation with an ERA below 3.60. This team isn’t gonna go anywhere without at least two more legitimate starters. It’s sad, really. Trout and Ohtani make the team exciting but the pitching holds them back

Baseball is truly one of the greatest American sports. It has inspired generations of people and is America's pastime and future. Don't get me wrong but I'm tired of seeing UFC with all the trash talk and vitriol and glorification of violence try to fill the vacuum in sports when it we have sports right before our eyes that we need to evolve to capture the American and global audience.

I think the guy tossing them was sub par! Ohtani missed a few but every time he got going he'd get a pitch way to inside or low. Ohtani like them up!!

The media did its best to try to get people to hate him by comparing himto baseball greats of the past , but failed miserably because otani's humility shines through. He is indeed a humble superstar.

I'm an Ohtani fan but the coverage was overkill. Hopefully for his sake the media back off and let him finish the season strong. I think they're using him to try to appeal to the international market, especially Asia.

I also think they’re overkilling it. Shohei might look like he’s shrugging off this pressure but we can never tell until when is he able to smile like this without it getting to him. One thing is for sure tho, Japanese MLB players are a breed of mentally strong athletes.
