Reece James and Ben Chilwell are really being missed. We can't keep playing a system that requires speedy wingbacks when we have Azpi and Alonso. Hopefully things change for the better. COYB💙
4-2-2-2 should be the way as we were great against spurs and when we went to a back 3 in the 2nd half we struggled against spurs.

@@halfhead4099 4-2-2-2 is a terrible formation for teams that attack from the wings as well as the fact that Azpi and Alonso have no legs further amplified that. That was very evident today.
Its not just speed. Both are excellent footballers. There are only a few guys on the team that are truly top tier. You see it with their dynamism, decision making etc. They are always unpredictable. Compare them with CHO. He's fast and more skilled that most of the squad, but he does basically the exact same things in every match, and its either it works or doesnt work.
I cant put my finger on it but ever since the release of that interview Lukaku's entire aura & demeanor has screamed TOXIC...
Look how Chelsea played without him in the squad against Liverpool vs how they play with him after the interview. I think the club are forcing Tuchel to play him that’s why it seems no one is happy including the fans, manager and players

Chilly is still one of the best LB in today's football and no one is denying that. I personally have to agree on this. Giroud did not score many for Chelsea but that was due to lack of game time, and whenever he played, he contributed massively to the team's linkup play. He was very underrated.

I am not a Chelsea fan (just a neutral watching this highlight), but Lukaku's issue currently reminds me of the Shevchenko situation back during the Mourinho days. Sheva was off-form but Mou had to keep playing him because back then he was their big signing, and I see parallels between that and the current Lukaku fiasco.
Whatever it is, I hope Chelsea settles the situation and gets back in form.
Difference is, Sheva didn't go around doing stupid interviews and destablising the dressing room.

That's what I was saying. Everything lies between the club's coach and the player not the country. For you to be called regardless of whom you are though (there are exceptions like "the Ronaldo's and Messi's" ), you have to perform at club level.

You can see from body language that in most situations Lukaku doesn't even expect a pass from his teammates anymore. The amount of opportunities missed because they refuse to pass the ball is unbelievable. Add to this that Lukaku now feels forced, to redeem himself, to pass the ball an excessive amount, goals are being lost left and right...
tuchel made football boring, they play the ball back more than forward, there is no risk taking, no innovation, no creativeness nothing, they are forced to play it safe if they want to keep their spot in the first team

I'm finding it hard to watch games. The team's form is discouraging me.
We might have to switch systems for the time being because we don't have proper wingbacks to entertain this style of play. Lukaku, Alonso and sad to say Azpi (no disrespect to the legend) and CHO cannot carry their weight. The rest are depended on too much to carry the slack and cannot perform. I've never seen a time when Chelsea have become so dependent on their youngsters like this that it feels like the team's fallen apart the second we get injuries and miss out key players, (James. Chilwell). Albeit we had world class players to save us with wonders like Kante, Hazard, Costa, Mendy, they can only overperform for so long. The squad's mentality have been pointed out to be problematic recurringly by the previous 3 managers who have all seem to have gotten the short end of the stick and now Thomas Tuchel is on the way there. The cycle is repeating itself, yet the root of the problem remains within the squad that some players NEED TO GO. The board is failing is from top down. I feel bad for TT. Back him all the way. Up the Chels.
