"if you don't give a shit about safety, then whatever".....classic, luv it
The problem with any tuner in the aspect of being "un-traceable", is they are always traceable. The question is how hard do they want to look for it?
Know a lot of folks that put tuners on their engines and got to buy a new engine. By the 2.7 and get the power. More than enough for this size of vehicle.
@@greglane3978 the thing I've learned is manufacturers tend to make engines...a tad over equipped for their job. And I mean a TAD. But that doesn't give you much room for tuning.
I thought it was a missed opportunity for Ford that they didn't include a set of driving gloves with the white ones.
Badlands trim gets you both lockers, Bilsteins, disconnecting sway bar and 4.70 gears. It’s a squatch without the 35” Goodyear’s.
Sasquatch also cost less on that package I wonder if you're better off not getting it or getting it 🤔
@@bryanbeck4399 That is the way I went 33" are just fine for most of the off-roading I'm doing. Plus took the four banger with the manual.
@@bryanbeck4399 squatch is about $4k on Badlands if I remember correctly. Definitely not worth it on the Badlands. Lots of better tires avail for far less than that, with enough left over to get the wider flares if you want them.
"Most of us don't give a s*** about safety and just wanna look cool." That's "off-road" truck builds in a nutshell.
Lesson of the day: Just buy the Sasquatch

Don’t buy a Bronco is what you meant.
You cannot talk about reliability, it just came out! Reliability should be talked about in 2-3years.
Great point about the tie rid issue, definitely not happening under any sort of normal or typical application.
There's a guy on Bronco 6G that turned around in his driveway, and apparently snapped his tie rod when one wheel went into the grass a few inches. He did nothing extreme. Took pictures right where it happened.
Just had to have our battery replaced because of a bad cell. 2023 with the 2.7 with 1,800 miles on it. Incredible
Personally I would do 33s and locker rear cos that would be enuf for most people, tune is cool but not necessarily.
Thank you for the "fuse" explaination for the tie rods. It drives me crazy so many people buying kits to "bulletproof" their tie rods. I'm waiting for all the rack failures to come. I'm carrying a spare set of tie rods offroad.
Lol imagine a vehicle so poorly designed that it breaks when offroading even slightly.
@@kenshinhimura9387 All off-road vehicles eventually break something, if you challenge them. Other than social media reports, not even someone directly, I don't know of a failure, but it does become an indicator of what parts to keep handy. Jeeps have their partts they keep for on the trail that are unique to those vehicles.
@@kenshinhimura9387 its called a mechanical fuse... all well- engineered 4x4s have them
@whenbacongrowsontrees7898 NOT IN THE STEERING! Might as well put a weak link in the brakes and say it's to protect the poor quality pistons.

I love those 37s on that OJ Edition… My 2dr WT 2.7 Lux is the “Jackass, Anti-collision, speeding ticket yellow Edition”
Great video, lots of good info for someone to make better choices when ordering. I just got mine last Friday which is nearly identical to yours but with a manual transmission. I ordered the base to get mine faster, I will order another one in the future with the sasquatch package when I can. I really do like it, but am running in sport mode and with 93 octane. It is not a race car, but I am enjoying it a lot. I do not regret getting the base at all, it's got a lot for the price. Thank you for the info.
This was the most helpful video I’ve seen for bronco. Thank you
Always good to hear someone who really knows what they are talking about. Great Video!
Best explanation about crash bars. Bravo.
YES! People need to understand, if anything is going to break while off roading, you WANT it to be the tie rod! Let the damn thing break and swap it out.
This bronco looks so awesome. Kudos for making the video for us.
Just remember a couple things when you buy base and try to upgrade. When you upgrade, you end up paying parts and labor twice. Once for the new parts, then for the upgraded parts. Factory original has or at least should have everything matched. A bigger engine may have a heavier trans, driveline, suspension parts, different gearing.
And, since the parts are not factory original they may not add anything to resale value
I worked for Deere. They had 125, 150, and 175 hp tractors that all had 404 cubic inch engines. Customers thought they were identical, just bigger fuel systems on the higher horsepower ones. Actually the valves, rods, radiators, pistons, crankshafts, transmissions, rear axles, etc. were all beefed up in the higher hp units. One extremely important thing were the head bolts. The higher hp units had bigger, stronger bolts to hold the extra combustion pressure.
Owners would turn up the injection pumps on the 125 hp units then wonder why they had failures
If you think you can simply double the hp in an engine and run it continuously at higher power, you’re only fooling yourself. If you drive more conservatively you can probably get by.

GREAT CHANNEL! Love listening to a genuine automotive enthusiast!
I rarely watch a review from start to finish but I definitely did with yours. Great video man. Love the 2 doors. Kinda wish they had 2.7l manual trans or a diff size motor option but I'm sure they tried when building.
I love these videos man. I follow your crazy ass on TikTok. Keep going with this build. Please. As an off-roader myself, it’s cool to see another platform that you can educate us on. Hopefully you can look into the Colorado ZR2. ;) . See how it matches up with this bronco.
Loving the build and info. Keep up the hard work!
Thanks man! There plenty more upgrades to come🫡
Bought a base got it last week.. getting the rims, 33 tires, glossy grill.. oracle lights,, no lift and I am spending less than I expected … I may get leather seats eventually but honestly the seats I got are cool af
Thank you! You answered my many questions I’ve been researching for months!!
Depending on what you are going for, you may or may not care about the Sasquatch, but if you are building a base, get the Sasquatch.
If you are building an OBX/BL/BD and don't necessarily need the sasquatch package, unless you are running 35 or larger tires.
The 4.46 and 4.27 differentials are plenty for 33's or 34's. I am stopping at 33.5" tires, so the 4.27 is plenty fine. You still can have the rear locker (or both lockers in the case of the non-sasquatch Badlands). The non-sasquatch Badlands suspension has the most articulation in the HOSS 2.0 suspension (which was $1300 to retrofit to my OBX).
The 2.7 is the better choice overall.
Agree, ordered an Outer banks SASQ package: OBX leather , heated seats etc. 2.7 with the 4.70 gears , lockers front/rear and the hard top.
I could have got the base model with a 2.7 but would have cost way more to build to the same spec or better than just ordering a SASQ.
The only option I couldn’t get with this package was the front sway bar disconnect…..I don’t plan to do extreme off roading so it wasn’t a big deal not to have….all I’ve done is perf upgrades …tune and exhaust so far…
Very happy with the way it looks and performs…
That is the issue with IFS....too many things to break...If you rock crawling, I like a solid axle up front!
Great video!! Thanks for all the helpful information.
Sasquatch package and 3 inch additional lift full clear 37's.
Small upgrades. Dana spicer half shafts, Carli Sway Bar, Fabtech tierods.
I have a 2 door base white Sasquatch with the 2.7 and absolutely love it! This is a great review nice video
That front end looks like something you might find in a golf cart. Kinda scary looking.
Trying order my 2023 base Bronco with Sasquatch Package - Save myself lots of decision making thx to these vids - i.e. I know enough to want cloth seats as some find the vinyl a bit unsettling - I am excited ...sure wish Cyber Orange was on the palate. Not going to mess with the design as I like to go with the well thought out geometries the engineers painstakingly calculated.

@@antimatter2380 I think they are referring to stickers that cover the "Bronco" on the grill, and matched to the paint. That's what I ordered.
Awesome video, I would like to note one thing, If safety is a concern but you want the SAS pkg. ICON is making crash bars for the Bronco with the SAS pkg. One other thing, my wife has the 2.7L and we rarely get into boost on normal driving i think that’s a good thing.
Will that mean if you want to fit 37's on a Non-Sas, you can add their aftermarket crash bars for added safety? I really want a 2.3L manual Badlands non-sas to add aftermarket full suspension. Originally the Fox pkg, but I think ICON is coming out with their own with Tune dampening on the fly.
@@MUHLMEDIA From what i am reading from Icon the safety bars are for 35” only. But hopefully they may make some other ones for larger tires, of course the taller you go the more your at risk for a rollover for normal road driving. Safety is my concern, my wife has a big bend 4dr soft top, i am thinking base sas 2dr, but have also now seen a video on issues with removing the rings, people are breaking bolts from factory cross threading. I wish i could pick each option i want, the levels they have are BS.
Lol I’ve been in the boost all the time for 8 years and she keeps banging 😎
Cranking out some great content mate
Love the Bronco! Nice video!!
I'm waiting for more of the aftermarket stuff to start coming out.
Sweet review and explanations, thanks!
I personally ordered a base 2 door manual, looking forward to slowly improving it little by little.
If I would have ordered the sas I would have changed bumpers, wheels, sliders etc at some point anyways so why waste the $? The HD front diff and lockers are the only real reason I wanted the package, but there will be better aftermarket options at some point so I choose the cheaper payment lol
If you have Sasquatch and the crash bar remove But if you add rockslider ,,,, that might help you during a crash and prevent the wheel collapsing onto your feet,,,,, who know,,,,,
What I cannot believe is the astronomical prices some people will pay for these newer 4wd vehicles - that have piss-poor fuel economy, despite being powered by a 4-banger... Deleting important safety features to 'upgrade' with larger tires that will only decrease fuel economy even further - and put an enormous strain on the OEM suspension / steering components. How is this a 'cheap' build? Even with a 4.5% interest rate on a $350K loan and $5K down, you're looking at paying about $840 mo for 5 years. Why not put $840 month into building an older vehicle that's easier to modify and find aftermarket parts for?
Because this is the next new thing and people become obsessed with street cred. CZcams allows us to see how much money people spend on things we don’t understand. Cars are deprecating assets, the idea of putting thousands and thousands into every new car purchase is completely idiotic from a financial perspective. This is not normal and shouldn’t be adopted by most people if financial security is your concern.
Don't forget about the black screen of death as far as reliability. Happened to me at 9000 miles. Reading on the forums that Ford literally does not know how to program a new APIM lol - some owners waiting 6 months + with no screen - i.e no music, climate control directional control, cameras, nav, settings, etc.
Wow! I honest you liked it. Bone stock Bone stock base models literally get me excited. I love base model work trucks
Base model Sasquatch owner. I use mine mostly on the street for now I put steps lights and leather heated seats. Love it so much just getting to roll around to 5k miles
47 failures so far out of the people that are on the forum, have had their Bronco delivered, that have the 2.7L, have had the failure so far and have chosen to disclose the failure. If you extrapolate to the thousands that have been delivered, the number of failures will be exponentially higher. Please, don't get it twisted... I don't hate on the 2.7, I have a Bronco BaseSquatch on order since January with the 2.7 but facts are facts...
Eh, your warranty will keep you safe during that period!
@@Bacnow Dozens of catastrophic engine failures reported so far at less than 10k miles. Several before 1k 😂 if I wanted to be stranded on the trail and have thousands in towing and recovery fees and have my car in the shop for a month while they try to tell me that my bigger tires are the reason my engine blew.. No thanks, I'll stick to my 1989 ford bronco 2 with a 4 in lift will do more than that garbage all day. Less than 4k in total and it has so much more style with the curved rear windows such a nice and comfortable interior. Red on white. Cost lest than a good lift kit for this new bronco. And why the hell would you be spending 30k on this garbage? It has soooooooo many problems and quality these days is just utter garbage. It makes me sad.
@@ThatOneGuyWithTheEye - congratulations on your OG Bronco! Sounds sweet!
My story: The company that i co-own covers a tri-state area (Cali/Nev/Az). We have three 2.7 ecoboost F-150s in our fleet! The mileage logged so far is 45k 167k, and 180k. The vehicle with 45k is replacing our 2.7 mule that logged 227k before being given to one of our workers as a personal vehicle (still driven daily). We have experienced ZERO mechanic failures (we posted this on F150 forums). When they announced that engine choice for the Bronco, we jumped at it based on our experiences.
This is their bread-and-butter engine and has been around for 7 years in 8 different vehicles (including fleet vehicles) and there are over a million on the road! The sample size is enormous and the body of evidence suggests that this is indeed a robust and reliable engine! The engines that you are referring to were all produced during the peak of Covid (shortage of personnel, alternative vendors, shortage of parts.) I believe that most of the failures were due to brittle valves from a replacement vendor that they no longer utilize! Take from it what you will, but the engine and transmission are solid IMO!
Julio read that first sentence and take another shot 🤣 and stop saying have
This is the same 2.7 that has been installed in about 100,000 F150's absolutely trouble free. There was a small batch of valves that were delivered to Ford that missed heat treating and caused some engines to drop valves. Facts are facts right here.
Nice build. Mine overheated coming back from California to Vegas. I was at about 13k miles. 2.7L. Gasket replaced and whatever else. I'm still in love with my Bronco. Its flawless ever since. Nice video!.
Sounds like a piece of shit.
Any ideas as to the cause of it? Was it just a quality issue, or is that a common problem? When I had my mustang, the passenger suspension bushing wore out prematurely and started knocking a little bit. Ford replaced it under warranty and I haven’t heard anything about other mustangs having that issue
thanks for the link to the beef tie rods
Really good video. Thanks for the info!
Wicked review! Tell it like it is.
Thanks boss
We need more people being vocal about the tie-rod hysteria. It’s blown way out of proportion by people who want to make money selling unnecessary upgrades. Thank you!
I have 5 pictures saved on my phone of all different Broncos with snapped tie rods lol
23 badlands SAS, digging it so far so good. Thanks for your work, great video!
Good information and details
I like your message, but telling someone that financing 7k as opposed to spending it is a good thing is bad advice....depending on their credit, that 7k upgrade may cost them 9k when it's all said and done. I spent 58k to buy my bronco, and while I hated writing the check, I now make monthly payments (w/interest) to my savings instead of a bank

BIGGEST REASON FOR SASQUATCH == FACTORY WARRANTY. Anything aftermarket is whatever warranty the manufacturer of those parts will give you.

what lift and wheel offset are you running? thanks
What’s up with the 2.7 engines having failure due to valve train. Did they fix this problem for 2023’s?
Little advice, if you want any high dollar options from the factory you should have the cost of those options used as a down payment. All after market options shouldn't need financing with a CC or whatever, interest will eat you alive. Financing anything like this should only be for the vehicle. Save money to save money in the long run, live within your means so you can afford to take a hot woman out in your toy with all the awesome aftermarket accessories. Instant gratification is a financial nightmare for the average person.
What lift do you on yours in the video? Height?
330 effortless HP out of the V6 vs 300 highly strained HP out of the four banger. There’s a bigger difference than you think. And once you start modifying either engine you are BEGGING for problems.
That 4cyl isn’t strained 😂 I say this as a stock block 600whp mazdaspeed 3 owner.
@@Ww8.3 OK, point well taken.
I have a 20 Explorer and 17 Mustang both with 4cyls. My Explorer pulls a 4K trailer always and so far 76k later zero problems. Mustang I drive like I stole it every time I drive and 86k miles later again zero problems. The Mustang has a tune and can run 12.9 in the 1/4.
@@brentvance3958 you’ve been really lucky with that year/model of explorer. Those have notoriously bad reliability. The company that handles our fleet of executive vehicles had to eliminate them as a choice because of how much they kept breaking.

I’d rather have the 2.3l over the 2.7l simply because of the manual
Love your videos 👍 obviously know what your talking about.
6:05 Every time I see a news story making a fuss about a shooting that resulted in loss of life, I try to remind people that about the same number of people die every year in the USA to vehicle collisions as to firearms incidents (excluding suicide).
Our cars are 4,000 to 6,000 lbs guided missiles and should be treated like the deadly weapons they are.
It almost looks like those tires are still too big for that little lift. They don't seem to have a lot of room to move up, into the wheel well.
Damn this bronco looks amazing man , I like way better than 4dr
Man, I thought this was a great, very pointed look at the Bronco, no vanilla content, facts and commentary backed by more facts. I do think the 47 busted 2.7T is a bad mark for Ford and I'm a Ford guy, that's still high for today's near perfect record with engines. But it doesn't matter to me, my heart is set on getting a 2023 Bronco Base with the Sasquatch Package. I had considered getting a base...Base, and then buy the wheels and tires, but it comes with too many other things that would be trouble to upgrade. I also have the philosophy that the manufacturer puts a lot of money in R&D to balance and hone packages just right. If I get in and mess with the suspension and other things, I may not match things as well as they did. I don't plan on doinng radical things with it, but do plan on trailing it and having some fun. Our dealers down here are MSRP dealers, so I shoul dbe able to see $40-44K or so, but I have to wait. Thanks again for the video.
If you are going to actually wheel it buy the base model. LS swap it throw away the drive train put full width tons under it with PSC hydro assist or full hydro on coilovers on 40s. But that's just me LOL. It would be sick looking tho.
The base model F-150 still has the steel wheels that came on 2011 to 14 trucks
No engineer puts a "fuse" in the steering like this. If they do desigb a weak link it better be stronger than THIS!
Hub fuses are a thing, but they were an aftermarket thing.
What size tires and rims?
What if I don’t off-road and don’t need a Sasquatch. Would just lifting it and getting bigger tires be significantly cheaper then getting a base Sasquatch ?
Squatch will get you a full skid plate?
No wonder the rod are gonna break its easy to forget hot this thing is heave you got great turn and the vehicule goes off easy
Proof read your post buddy.

You guys need to stop using SAS as an abbreviation for sasquach. The 4x4 wold has already been using SAS for "solid axel swap" since the dawn of time.

badlands cuts the difference i think for suspension options, you basically only miss the gearing.
Great Video, you could go with the Badlands without the Sasquatch and save a bit of money to go aftermarket wheels and tires. While still getting all the gearing and axle upgrades. 2” lift is around $200. I kindof wish I went that way with mine. I ended up with a Badlands Squatch and now I’m shopping after market wheels. 🙄
I have the badlands and I'm wondering what mods are needed just to go up to the 35s. Can the 35s be put on the same 17 inch rim or do I need new rims? Do I NEED the 2 inch lift kit? Do the crash bars need to be removed for 35s? Any info would help.
