Making simple syrup for moist cakes

Simple Syrup Recipe:
Ingredients (equal parts recipe):
1 cup of hot water
1 cup of sugar
Materials:
Plastic water bottle
Push pin
Measuring cups
Stirring tool
Oven mittens (for hot cup of water)
Cup/bowl with a spout (optional for pouring)
Wait until the syrup is cool to use on your cakes and store any left over syrup in fridge for later use.
