Scott Steiner is awesome. One of, if not THE best look in professional wrestling history. I remember as a 12 year old watching him in 1998 on Nitro and thinking a human being just couldn't look like that. Incredible ring and promo skills at his peak, and he did the one thing all professional wrestlers needed to do; be believable to the point you think elements of his character/story/feud were real. I remember seeing Scott very early in his career when he came to WCW and was not the star that Rick was. I think he was roughly 235 lbs - a terrific athlete as well as a surprisingly good technician - couldn't help but see this young guy had GREAT potential - even before they pushed him. Honestly, I think he would have been even more successful if he hadn't gone so all in on getting bigger - because he was such a good athlete - and had a great look the way he was. So good to hear the positives about him - particularly how he's been helping young wrestlers in recent years and his nice interactions with kids at the arenas.

Scoot Steiner was a beast!!! Steiner Brothers to this day my favourite tag team and brother tag team as well with Harlem Heat a close second. Now let me drop a jewell for those not knowing... He invented the Frankensteiner, which peeps call a hurricanranna. The Scorpio splash was done by "Scotty" first in Memphis. Though 2Cold revolutionized it. Which is now referred as a 450 splash. Last but not least the fallaway slam is a variation of a move Steiner done in Memphis and early NWA days. It was a back flipping fallaway. He done it on small as well as large figures in wresting. So the fallaway slam and Spanish fly are variations of that move as well. Underrated and NEVER duplicated. I feel, Steiner gets a bad rap because he took no shxt from anyone. Especially the infamous and famous politics in the back from those who were know for there screwy antics.

The Steiners and Rotunda were the real legit shoot wrestlers in WCW/WWF. Guys tended to be wary of Scott in particular. Bret in his book talks about how the Steiners were like "amiable gorillas" who could also be real bullies to the guys with lesser skills. And that if Scott wanted to, he could wrap someone up and do whatever he wanted to them. Bischoff recounts once walking in on Scott literally sodomizing someone with a pen. Rotunda could also tie people into pretzels if he wanted to but has been universally praised as one of the nicest guys in the business. But, one only need look up his match with Death Row to see how easily he could impose his will on someone.

I love Animal, but oh if only I had a nickel for every “street fighter” who thought they could beat a trained collegiate or skilled amateur wrestle lol.
Always the same “nO rEf oN tHe StReEtS and talk about the mythical dirty street fighting tactics. Like a trained fighter wouldn’t literally do the same thing lol
Even if they’re tough, athletic, etc-they’re losing 99.99% of the time. And anyone who’s seen or been in a fight as or with someone trained knows this.
Especially prime Steiner, who has submission and catch as catch can knowledge on top of being a great wrestler.
Everyone thinks they’re just gonna step out and punch a wrestler when they get shot on, until they’re on their back getting daddied or pummeled lol.

Yeah I don't agree, Steiner was a good wrestler especially in his younger days with his brother. It seems like when he went solo he struggled a little bit, dunno if it was lack of confidence or some personal problems or whatever. But I think Sid may be talking about him not being a good wrestler from the standpoint of fellow wrestlers, like being stiff and hard to talk to, map out matches, and work with in general. That's just speculation from stuff that I've read but again, I dunno.
