This week we are joined by Israeli-American author, activist, and speaker Miko Peled. Author of The General's Son and Injustice, Miko Peled reflects on his path from growing up the son of an Israeli war general in as "strong of a zionist family as you could possibly have" to becoming an anti-zionist activist for Palestinian rights, and supporter of BDS and the creation of one democratic state with equal rights for all in historic Palestine. Miko dismantles the myth that there can be a liberal zionism concluding "there never was, there never is, and there never can be a good version of a racist ideology" and that "zionism is a form of neo-fascism." The Palestine Pod sends its solidarity to Palestinians in Jerusalem who are currently resisting expulsion from their homes and racist violence by Israelis and Miko refers to the "Judaization of Jerusalem" as "ethnic cleansing 101" and warns that Israel is hell-bent on destroying Jerusalem, an ancient city including its Muslim holy sites. Miko reveals the antisemitic origins of the zionist movement. Lara commends a recent episode of Miko's podcast which shed light on the efforts of the zionist lobbies to infiltrate the US K-12 educational system to suffocate Palestinian history by intimidating teachers who dare depart from pro-zionist lesson plans. Miko offers a word of advice to Palestinians in the diaspora who encounter Israeli intelligence at the airport or crossings when trying to visit Palestine.

I read The General’s Son a while back and I must say that it was a very tough read (from an emotional standpoint). It’s good to be able to listen to this conversation although I’m still pretty shocked that Miko has had such a profound awakening after a lifetime of being brainwashed. You guys are doing such great work!

This is absolutely essential viewing and phenomenally educational. It helps counter some of the very common rhetoric that the Zionist regime propagates. I have shared this widely.
God bless you all for your efforts towards challenging injustice and championing human rights. Miko you are a shining example of those very special souls that take a stance against oppression even if it's being perpetrated by the group/ nation/ race you are affiliated with. That takes great strength of character and principles. Doing the right thing when doing the wrong thing would be easier. I'm sure it's not easy to come up against the force of an intimidating Zionist racist regime.

God bless these very admirable young people using their talents, education and creativity to challenge the systematic ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. No one can truly flourish at the expense of another. No one can have real peace in their hearts and enjoy a comfortable privileged life when that is paid for by the bloodshed and dispossession of another people.
@Smilla Ilyas Just because Israel is occupying West Bank, it does not make it a Zionist racist regime. Surely, it is a situation that deserves criticism and some aspects of it, deserve condemnation, but the fact is this is the issue of disputed territories due to war. Also, Palestinians have their own government and Palestinians subject to laws that are different from Israeli laws. In other words, Israel is one country with three political systems, like China with Hong Kong and Macau. But for the proper Israel, Jews and Arabs have the same legal rights, there are no separate public accommodations, and Arabs can serve in Israeli military and even represent Israeli government. If Israel was such a racist regime, then my Jewish cousin would not be able to have a domestic partner who is Arab, since they are both non-religious they cannot get married in Israel but that's another issue.
Frankly, I am seeing that whoever calls Israel a racist regime despite having evidence to the contrary, is just using it as buzzwords in order to create hatred for Israel to justify its destruction. Miko, Mike, and Lara certainly want it, and their logic goes like this: "We want Israel destroyed because it is supposed to be an Arab-majority country, so we have to make people believe that it's a Zionist racist regime, which supposedly treats Arabs and non-Jews as inferior, and we hope that by converting people to our views, they will be calling for Israel's destruction."

For instance, how can Hertz steal Palestine when himself died in 1904, before it got named Palestine in 1917 and he never lived there? L I highly doubt that they will bring Finkelstein, because Norman is a supporter of two-state solution and he opposes this ridiculous idea of the so-called right of return of Palestinian refugees to Israel. Finkelstein is against the occupation of West Bank and so do I, but he is also against the destruction of Israel and driving Israeli Jews out, as Lara wants.

Initially I didn't understand the "Do not comply!" title, only in the last 20 mins or so. The entire podcast is enlightening and moving, but to hear Lara's first hand experience of being harassed by zionist just breaks my heart. Surely we can't let things like this continue. @Dion Virtue Zionism is not about religion, it's based on anthropology, meaning that all Jewish people have originated in the Middle East and have a right to settle there. However, I noticed that most people who oppose Zionism, do so on religious grounds by bringing up Christianity and Islam by claiming that their respective religion is making Middle East holy, and anyone who does not adher to that religion, need to be excluded from that land.

Being German and listening to your discussion about the holocaust I would like to raise a point you Jewish people might not like to consider, however according to my findings in the last years, I am pretty sure zionism was already the driving force behind the holocaust. If you only think a bit, it gave the legislation to install israel. I am pretty sure not much of what we are being told about the holocaust is true. Just to get a feeling for what I am talking about you might listen to Benjamin Freeman's speech in the Willard Hotel 1969, I believe.
the holocaust is true it really happened but some of the jewish leaders were making deals with nazis while innocent suffered...the same thing will happen when zionism ends its the brainwashed followers that will suffer while zionist leaders will find their way out
Lovely conversation but all what is said sadly, needs to really fact checked. After watching this and knowing better. I have to ask myself if I should believe anything I get online. All this does is cause division among people. These things do not try to find a solution to the problem.
