Like Goldilocks porridge not too big and not too small. We are just back from the Hall. A lovely sunny day, plenty of parking. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the history.
There are some wonderful follies and the river is calming with a few swans adding to the calmest. The long horns and sheep too!
The walled gardens are good, the grounds well kept and the addition of 2 tea rooms and modern clean rest rooms are wonderful.
There is an 8 seater free to use electric mini bus every 5 to 10 minutes, as the walk to the house is about a mile.
No suits of armour or such. More 17th and 18th century. The more recent history being the Lichfield family, and the close ties to the late Queen.
About 2 to 4 hours visit in total.
