    Sir, you speak with the charm of a dwarf bard, and your video is nothing short of enchanting! You surely deserve a like, a hearty round of applause, and 300 gold coins from the guild treasury!

    Thank you for this fantastic tutorial. I was kicking around the internet constantly looking for a good templating application for printing cards while Inkscape was sitting right under my nose! Your guide made the creation of printable sheets in Inkscape easy and simple.

    You should just print on white linen card. Preferably 300gsm or higher. Then spray the surfaces with a crystal clear lacquer (satin or glossy finish) and then you don't have to laminate them.
    The linen card also gives you the textured effect of a normal playing card.

      Thankss for the idea. I have linen paper. I would just need to get that lacquer spray. I should try that sometime as a proof-of-concept.

    Fantastic video and an excellent resource for anyone wanting to add home brew to their HeroQuest game. Although I have watched the video twice previously and printed out cards size and layout precept on Ye Ole Inn tools for laminating, cutting and corner shaping came in handy. I now have treasure cards three times the quantity of the core game to create a deck just for furniture treasure searches, beyond that of just standard room treasure searches. This gives the heroes double the opportunity in finding treasure and potions, with the inverse of finding twice the wandering monsters, traps and hazards

      Thanks. That's also an interesting idea of making your own deck for furniture searches that is larger and separate from the rom treasure deck. Perhaps my idea of having a separate deck for each piece of furniture is a little overkill, but I guess it can also have its place as well if people get excited about each piece of furniture.
      With that deck, are you using a house rule where a room can only be searched once and then each piece of furniture can also only be searched once as well or can each hero search a room and also search each piece of furniture?

    • @vinniefinnagan
      @vinniefinnagan Před rokem

      @@HeroQuester-gn2oy the deck is for all furniture. There’s essentially a room treasure deck and a furniture treasure deck. For the weapons rack, I use the equipment card deck.

    I was printing some on my laser printer earlier this year for a home brew campaign and I'm sticking with the 3rd party option. My ink cartridges cost $400 to replace them and it didn't take long to drain them! hahah.
    Awesome video series.
    The HQCC is way easier than messing around with photoshop and a bunch of templates I downloaded from a creator on Deviant Art, which is what I was doing previously.

      I know. It's crazy how much the companies will charge for the cartridges. It can be as much as the printer itself. I ran out of toner while printing my cards and struggled to find replacement cartridges. I ended up finding off-brand from Amazon for like a third of the price. My printer kept complaining that it doesn't support a "counterfeit cartridge," but eventually let them work while warning me that it can't read any statistics from them.

    I have been working on my own homebrew dungeon crawler and it uses a lot of cards. Definitely downloading inkscape for my future prototyping. I have been using photoshop and illustrator and im tired of paying for those when i can just use this and Gimp to get the same results or maybe even better.

    Amazing video.. I've been using your method to make my cards. I am currently laminating them using the laminator at work because I'm using 300 gsm card stock paper. What card stock do you use?

    • @HeroQuester-gn2oy
      @HeroQuester-gn2oy  Před 9 měsíci +1

      It was whatever was available at an Office Depot. In this case, it was Neenah Exact Vellum Bristol Premium Card Stock 67lb 147g/m^2.

    Hey so I’m printing card they started printing images overlapped and I can figure out why.

    • @HeroQuester-gn2oy
      @HeroQuester-gn2oy  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I'm not exactly sure how I would be able to help with that if I don't know the exact cause and to what extent the overlapping is. Did you make sure the cards lock correctly against the grid lines? Sometimes, I have seen the graphics be a pixel off from the grid lines, but I don't know if that is what you're talking about. Or did your paper not get flipped the right way when printing each side?

      @@HeroQuester-gn2oy hey man. Thanx for replying. I figured it out though. It actually ended up being the card stock and printer not feeding it correctly. It was traction pads on the rollers. The cards turns out great thanx so much

    Ok so I absolutely love all of your cards. I am currently importing all of the images to inkscape, I came across the wand in the weapons cards. It says that it can only be used by the warlock. Do you have a Warlock character Card? Or is it part of an extensions? Let me know thanx so much.

    • @HeroQuester-gn2oy
      @HeroQuester-gn2oy  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I guess I made inventory cards for all of my equipment cards, which included some from the Mythic Tier portion. I haven't even played any of the Mythic Tier quests yet, but, I think the Warlock character is one of the bonus heroes from that.
