I'm seventy years old now and I think I have lived through the greatest time in modern music, particularly with progressive rock, which I believe this band has kept alive, thank the gods, they are good, real good.
The transition from ⦵ to Higher Power live is simply incredible. ⦵ is slowly building up the hype and excitement and Higher Power starts exploding them. Both times I went to their shows I lost my breath and my hands were literally shaking after this transition.
I'm not a super Coldplay fan, but recently saw them in concert and it was honestly probably the best 2 hours of my life! I usually go to smaller concerts and have always been skeptical of big arena concerts. Moments before Coldplay came on stage I was thinking that it was impossible to get any atmosphere in such a big stadium and that most people would be just kind of sitting back chilling passively. As you say, when ⦵ came on people started getting excited, but that moment that they went in to 'Higher Power' suddenly the stadium lit up with colour and lights and within literally a couple of *seconds* every single one of 60,000+ people were out of their seats in pure euphoria. It really took me off guard and I actually became overwhelmed with emotion. Such an amazing experience to have such a sudden emotional reaction alongside so many other people in unison. Absolutely incredible performance from start to finish.
Every Coldplay album offers something for your mind, but this album… the words and harmonies is absolutely amazing and touches chords of my heart. You truly are my favorite Band and favorite group of writers and musicians. This is incredible work!

This tonage of positivity I would never withstand, but imho overproduced and music dramaturgy fades away in electronics and arrangements. Previous albums (despite their lethal positivity) you cant deny had well written songs and interesting collaborations.

Age old problem with artists. They become only great due to not even knowing how great they are. Over time they get better with word or music. They live and breath and have other things to say in their way. It’s a nice living album. But I get people can’t reflect and attach to it as it’s prob to personal to him. Bless him though.
