    I love my RT paddle brushes: Foundation and small shadow. I don't care for sponges but the paddle does a great job blending liquid foundation. The small shadow brush is xlnt for the outer corner as well as lid, and crease too if I'm not feeling dramatic.

    Very helpful. So far my favorite RT brushes are the Expert Face brush for foundation, the base shadow brush for cream eyeshadow, the detail small angled brush for shadow liner, the buffing brush for pressed powder and the blush brush is ok for bronzer. I love the multitasking face brush for blotting and to blend face powders.

  • @ivoryandgold88
    @ivoryandgold88 Před 5 lety +6

    I've had the buffing brush and contour brush from the old core collection for about 7 years and they still work like new along with my domed shadow brush and Multitask face brush from the Travel Essentials set I bought at the same time. I just got the Everyday Essentials and the Enhanced eyes set BoGo free on the Ulta site. I don't use sponges but that was a nice bonus to try out and all the RT brushes I've been wanting, the blush brush is less dense than I thought it would be but I used it for the first time yesterday and really like it bc the fluffiness makes it blend blush nicely w/o depositing too much color. I also love the setting brush for highlighter and I think the expert face brush will work well for contour. I've never used cream contour but I can imagine it being great for that. ☺

    Very thorough review, thank you. I love their products. I used to swear by the beauty blender sponge, even after trying the RT version. Until two weeks ago, I decided to try the RT sponge again, omg! I love it more than the beauty blender now! I even went out and bought a couple of back ups! Lol! Although I am always mixing it up with how I apply my foundation, be it brush or sponge, I tend to also use the brush you mentioned! 🥰

    I use RT brushes for my face and cream eyeshadows. For powder eyeshadow I far prefer my Eco Tools brushes, Japonesque and Morphe brushes. The RT brushes tend to be very large and imprecise, which is unsuited for my small, hooded eyes. I end up using most of them as blending brushes because they are so big.

    My favorite of their eye brushes is the all purpose crease brush that comes in the set. For my eye shape, I use it in the crease and on the lid; basically, I can do an entire eye look with just that one brush. I also like the detailer brush for applying shadow as liner. I love both the setting brush and the contour brushes, but I can't get the blush brush to work for me. It's too soft or fluffy or something. Plus, I have kind of a small face, and it's just too big to apply blush for me. Works better as a face powder brush, but it's not my favorite for that either.

    I absolutely love the quality of the brushes but I find that the original brush line with the purple, pink or orange handles are often way to big for me. The blush brush is my big powder brush and all of their eye brushes just drown my eyes in color. So the better brush lines from them for me and my needs are the ones from special collections and the more luxurious collections but those are actually really expensive to me. They price them at €30 which is sigma prices. It's a shame they mostly come out with high end priced brushes these days, except for the basic brushes. They sponge is awesome though.

      It depends on what you want to use them for! In terms of powder/blush/bronzer, I find the blush brush to be most versatile because of the tapered end (versus the broad, fluffy end of the bigger orange powder brush). I don't think I've tried the Instapop brush!

    I cant use the buffing brush for foundation. It's not dense enough, because it's a brush meant to be used with powders. I tried it and I put it down very quickly since it was so inept at the task. The expert face brush applies liquids better for me, its dense enough to move the product and stipple it on in certain areas. I wonder if your foundations are more liquidy thy han mine and that's why it works for you? Idk, the brush is not dense so foundation travels up the bristles and thy the bristles gunk up together.

We all have different shaped features so definitely there's not a one-size-fits-all brush. Name the brush Erma or Irving, but don't call it a crease brush because it won't fit into my crease! ; ) RT does make some work horse brushes. How do you think they compare to EcoTools, who seem to have been available for a long time.
