  • This week students had the amazing opportunity to learn how to make shofars! The shofar is a horn from a kosher animal that is blown in prayers during the Hebrew month of Elul and on Rosh Hashanah. It is an awakening call to better ourselves as the new year begins.
It was fascinating to delve into the art of crafting these traditional Jewish musical instruments. From selecting the horn to carefully drilling the mouthpiece, sanding and polishing it, every step was filled with creativity and precision.
We are grateful to Rabbi Mendy and Mushka Rabinowitz and their team for their time, showing our students the traditions and meaning behind this precious tradition.
