Listening to this reminds me of my brother’s high school graduation 7 years ago and I loved the song because it would remind me that one day I would be in his shoes walking across the stage and receiving my diploma. End of 2012 I went through a tough mental space, went halfway across the country to Houston for 3 months as a change of scenery. It was the change I needed at the time, and ended up being a very healing time. This song was on my favorite satellite radio station all the time and has become the soundtrack of those 3 months. Anytime I hear this or Ed sheeran’s A team I instantly remember exactly how I felt then, what my car felt like, what the drive to work looked like, the streets I took, the places I passed, the way the weather felt, the apartment. 11 years ago feels like yesterday for a moment. Nostalgia is so strange.

This song is in memory of a make a wish kid who became friends with imagine dragons. The kid, who is named Tyler, his wish was a gift to his friend. He got his friend the best computer for his wish, and then died a few years later. Imagine dragons dedicated this song to him, Rest In Peace Tyler.

This song means a lot to me and i'd like to thank you...thank you for saving my life. About 3 or 4 months ago i was battling depression and had suicidal thoughts from people telling me that "I'd never amount to anything good in life" or that "I'm a worthless being." I started to think "who'll even remember me...i'm just a stupid 13 year old kid that cant make a difference" But one day. One day changed everything when a song came on. It talked about "building up from the bottom of a pit" and "never changing who I am." Immediately after that day I went back to my house and immediately bust into tears, it was the first time i was able to truly smile in weeks. That day the name Imagine Dragons was the name of a group that i'd never forget. You've probably hear many experiences like this...but it still just seems right to thank you for opening my eyes to a better life because with out you..i wouldn't be here today. You've been my favorite group ever since and always will be.
